Finally, someone truly defined Cristiano Ronaldo properly. When CR7 joined ManU, the whole world was excited about him. A lot like him came and couldn't live up to the level he did. That's not talent, it's just pure care of hard work.

I remember skinny teenage Ronaldo coming to United and my friends at school used to say ‘if anyone did that many stepovers to me, I would take him out’. Most people thought he was a one trick pony and disappeared in big games. His passing wasn’t great, decision-making was often wrong and his shooting wasn’t there yet. How he developed since then…
@insoserious

Yup, when Ferguson brought him to ManU he was not yet used to the highly physical nature of the English game and he got tackled to the ground a lot in the time that it took him to do his multiple stepovers. There was even a chant going round that said “you bought the wrong Ronaldo”

Yes Ronaldo was extremely hard working and has mental toughness that comes around very rarely, but people undermine his natural talent. You dont get one of the best teams in the world begging to sign a 17 year old after they've played against him if he doesn't have raw natural exceptional talent. His quality of dribbling, especially the speed and execution of his step overs, is something that is yet to be replicated. It is impressive and admirable for sure but it doesn't make you the best. His aim was to be the best but in the end you can only be the best you can be but then there is just somebody who has more natural talent and that is Messi. If you think Messi didn't work hard, you are very much mistaken. Messi worked incredibly hard to hone his craft.

@@hesch-tag You don't get to define your opinion of what makes someone the best to me lol The sheer audacity of Messi fans to do that is bizarre. I never even mentioned Messi so nice strawman argument btw. It's funny you say natural when Messi had to take HGH to even be able to grow enough to play. I respect both players and they are both in my top 5 but for me the best player is the one that shines in the big games in any sport and that is CR7. @hatchershits9256 20 дней назад
@@carnagefxmarketslayers7795 You mean HGH talent or just talent? Look, Messi is certainly in the conversation but for me Ronaldo is the superior player because he can handle pressure better. Messi can't. They should have laced that HGH with something to help with his nerves because in big games and at the PK spot he's a choker who pads his stats versus minnows. Ghosted in 4 Copa America Finals missing a PK to lose one and if not for Angel Di Maria he wouldn't even have that trophy and likely the WC as well where he ghosted in the 2014 one. I don't know what happened to him but after the 2011 CL game against Man U he just started not showing up in KO rounds and big games and just started choking. MIssed PK in 2012 against Chelsea cost them back to back likely CL titles. Your boy has all the talent a player could want but he's still a choker.

To be honest, I never look at CR like that, "talented, doesn't need to work hard, looks millions dollar". The first time I watched him play was around 2004 I guess, it was UCL, at first I thought SAF was looking for Beckham replacement, on that alone, I knew SAF would never look at instant talent, but when I saw him play, I couldn't remember exactly how he played, but I knew he was there because of his hardwork. Different story with the OG Ronaldo and Ronaldinho who were pure talents. I always thought whenever I see CR, it seems like he's chasing something, like he needs to be somewhere, like he had to make progress. And boooi what a progress he made with Real Madrid.

I've always said Ronaldo was made by pure hard work and dedication. He had talent, but his work rate made him the player he is. Even playing to 39 years old still killing it. Where as messi was gifted with talent. He works hard, but not close to Ronaldo. Growth hormone is also a major factor in messi. Without barca pumping him full of it he would ve a dwarf who is good at kick ups. That's why I think Ronaldo is the better player.

I believed it until the part about him not complaining when he got kicked in training. I find that hard to believe. Maybe though because he respected those older players
