The strength of men, especially not to cry in front of their kids, is incredible. So incredible, that if they do it (like your father) you know thats some pure raw emotion shxt. God bless our dads.

Bro, I can relate to Ronaldo. I stopped playing competitive football because of my dad. I made it into the professional level, but the anxiety that my dad left with me ruined my career and made me give up on the beautiful game as I found no beauty in it. Despite winning and doing so much, the only thing I wished from my father was a compliment. The only times when I did talk to him, he criticized everything. Luckily I rarely see that guy now and have gotten back to the game, but I hope anyone reading this, if y’all ever have kids, love them, even if your relation with the mother goes sour, keep being there and support your children, because trauma can kill them in their future.

I just lost my father last year,so watching him crying about his father really made me cry.Everytime I see father related things I always burst my tears out,having no father is really hard at a young age.I feel Cr7's feelings at this point

this is exactly why I think Ronaldo is the most inspiring sportsperson ever. he had to go through so much struggle and yet he became one of the best footballers in history. with the natural talent he had, he did not ever deserve to be compared with the great players, but he worked so hard that he was and still is often compared with someone as good as Messi. Messi has achieved more, and is a better player than Ronaldo,but the fact that Ronaldo often gets compared with Messi is already a massive thing. Messi is just a pure unmatched talent while Ronaldo worked harder that any other footballers. I feel ya bro, my father disappeared when I was 5. My mom did the same to me, I was one of the best in sports when I was playing, she didn’t come to one game, no rewards or recognition cause she didn’t have time. But as an elder now, don’t blame your father, he had his demons to fight (he loved you, under all that alcohol) all we wanted was to share the spotlight in 3-6th grade to HS, to the pros (for very few, u r lucky but you worked hard to prove him wrong) but ‘you’ did it with your family n will be there for your children! Even I cried for his dad, not for CR7 in this case. When he said ‘he was drunk man, I didnt know him’ I thought about his fathers tough life and addiction. Many people dont know he became alcoholic because he was suffering from great trauma, as he was sent to war with the army (I believe it was in Korea). He never really recovered from that, as many soldiers. CR7s dad story is a classic soldier story.. poor guy, because this is never what he wanted 😢 I’m happy he at least saw Ronaldo playing for Man Utd, knowing his family was financially save and at least experience that joy. RIP José Denis Aveiro!
My dad was an alcoholic I know exactly how he feels Ronaldo has a good heart all alone like I felt this way many years to go through that and become successful like this needs courage and strength hats of to him.
