without this man I don't think we would of had Messi or cr7, he changed how football revolved into today as we see it , absolutely marvellous ,my opinion the greatest of all time
pele never mastered the step over till riverlino taught him how to correctly execute it ; and there was also skillfull players before pele and also none Brazilian, skills would contribute from lots of players; garrincha cruyff maradona , but Ronaldo had the lot plus unreal pace and power total balance and did it in all country's he played in , even took the italian league and destroyed there best defences which was unheard of then
People should never forget how great he was at the peak of his powers. Even after such bad injuries he still adjusted his game to find the back of the net. Absolute legend of a player.
he picked it up over the last 5-7 years I believe, - he went to the UK to study sports marketing and management. I think that is where he learned English. But so great to finally here my hero speak English!
In Brazil, he is known as “Ronaldinho “ (the other one is known as Ronaldinho Gaucho). I was MESMERIZED when I first saw Ronaldinho play in France 98. I thought he was a Footballer from Heaven. Great Physique, Wonderful Technique, Incredible Speed, Magical dribbling with the flair of Samba, Powerful Shots. He just looked PERFECT. I have never enjoyed watching any player the way I enjoyed watching Ronaldinho. My favorite of all time. And those shoes he wore during the 98 World Cup... THE BEST EVER.
Just amazing to hear Ronaldo speaking English. Not particularly because of his excellent language skills, but it just illustrates his willingness to learn new things after his footballing career which you do not see often nowadays. Communicating in English surely helps him during his numerous travels around the world to visit events. It would be even more amazing if he picks up his Dutch again which he spoke a little bit during his time at PSV, but I dont believe it is going to happen anytime soon. Still a living legend to me.
@@fcb3266 I don't care about the category you submit, whether you want to be complete or special, if you talk about the best, Ronaldo is the best phenomenon
@@fcb3266 no he wasnt r9 only didnt achieve as much as messi and cr7 because his knee exploded in his leg in 1999 doctors called it the worse injury theyve ever seen his kneecap ended up by his thigh and was the size of a football after he had surgey. B4 his injury at the age of 21 and 23 r9 had more goals than messi or cr7 or haaland or mbappe at they age of 21 and 23
@@HimanisWorld Can you explain to me what makes Ronaldo Nazario so special? Everyone says he’s the best but personally I don’t see what makes him outstanding. I always felt he was an ordinary striker who’s reputation became way overblown after scoring in the 1998 Champions League final against Lazio as well as the 2002 World Cup. From the games I saw, he’s mostly a target man who missed a lot of easy sitters. Not really impressive at all.
I have read a book about Fenomeno and there is explained there was a big pressure on him, so the doctors gave him anxiolitics to cool him down before the match and also they gave him a lot of medicaments to reduce the pain in his knees, so this mixture could cause the serious troubles, convulsions and uncousciousness
It’s just a joke. It was all pre-planned. They wanted France to win so they did all this drama. In return they gave the 2002 WC to Brazil. All World Cups are fixed and rigged.
THIS IS THE REAL RONALDO! Absolutely brilliant.. the best forward in the history of the game! It's a pitty that there was no SOCIAL MEDIA and smartphones to help build a person's reputation in his time... If there was no injury, this guy would have been the undeniable greatest of all time!
but if there were no irresponsabilities... Ronaldinho Gaúcho would have been as good as him... And if there was no aging... Messi would be on the same pack kkkk
SOLO CHRISTO Very true, if he didn't have those career ending/threatening injuries Pele and Maradona would bow down to the one and only OG Ronaldo declaring him as the GOAT, injuries or no injuries for me he is the greatest player and also my #1 favorite footballer in history. 🏆💯
Pelé created most tricks we see today. Maradona playstyle was something marvelous. Ronaldinho magic... Ronaldo and Messi have been playing at the greatest level ever for more that 12 years breaking records everywhere!! This Ronaldo only had true amazing Performances for around 2 or 3 years (I know he was injuried all time).
Bro they poisoned him .... He was a beast in intermilan a beast that WC .... Zidane was good but still Zidane wasn't enough to beat Brazil n Ronaldo ... zidane .... dnt forget inter Milan played juventus in serie A ... I think inter won all those matches... Ronaldo played for inter n zidane played for juve ... so they already knew what time it was play dirty r go home empty handed r stay home empty handed n the French wasn't ready to do that ! I'll never forget that day I cried after that defeat
His tears 1 min before the final ended (he was in the bench already) says it all .... all the pressure ended and he had scored 2 goals and won the World Cup for his country !!!!
Still the greatest of ALL TIME. I love this generation, but THIS Ronaldo was pure magical. Always joyous to watch and always capable of magic. His hattrick against Utd was just devestating. His goals in 2002 remain amazing to watch till this day.
1996/97 EL Fenom was the peak. Injuries after that he was never same, although still great, that season he was the most amazing striker I have ever seen
Im27 and he was and is by far the best player i ever saw. The complete forward as can be, pace, power, strength, skill, quick feet, ariel ability he had it all. Just remember his career was on borrowed time and he was always up against it from 1998 onwards due to knee injuries. So imagine without it how good he was.
Ronaldo was the biggest influencer of all time... if it wasn’t for him there would be no cristiano or messi!! Nobody moved like him.. simply the best of all time
WITHOUT "RONALDO" WE CAN'T TALK ABOUT FOOTBALL. SACHIN IN CRICKET, JOHN CENA IN WRESTLING AND RONALDO IN FOOTBALL ARE GOD GIFTED TALLENT. EVERY 80S AND 90S BORN FANS KNOW THAT WHAT WAS RONALDO MEANING IN FOOTBALL......💕💕💕
This happened in France, where Brazil were about to play the hosts in the Final. It happened after lunch? That tells me that someone put something in his food or drink, because that never happened before or after to Ronaldo.
cjewe1z How the fuck does that tell you someone put something in his food?? It could have happened for any number of reasons. If someone was gonna' fuck with his food why not just fuck with all the food?? Where the fuck is your logic? Fucking moron.
Foods causing convulsion in immediate future is highly improbable but not impossible. Someone planning for an immediate/assured result in couple of hours would have rather preferred indigestion/nausea. No I don't buy this conspiracy. It was the stress of carrying the hopes of an entire nation as a 21 year old.
My all time top 3 greatest strikers in the history of this game... 1)The Phenom Ronaldo 2)Marco Van Basten 3)Romario Highly likely older folks may not agree with those 3 names I came up with.My dad would be one of em' who would bash me for not considering the likes of Pele/Gerd Muller/Puskas/Eusebio.But hey,my first world cup was Mexico 86'.Yes I've heard & knew who were these greats back then.In my opinion 80's & beyond those 3 would be my choice...hands down the best ever.
Buthearted. There is two ronaldos. Ronaldo Nazario and Cristiano Ronaldo the Best player of history. Frionel Fressi is the FAKE "D10S" CAUSE the real D10S of football was and Will be Maradona
I don't know why, I do admire and like all the great players like Ro/nio and Mesi etc, but I love this guy. He is a unique phenomenon. And I am not even a football fan.
My 11 year old son has no idea who he is, so I told him that this is the real Ronaldo, even though he looks a bit like Billy Bunter and has only 1 knee, he can still run rings of fire around the Portuguese one.
He was awesime striker best striker I have ever seen apart from Pelle. Its unfortunate that his career was cut short due to injuries. If Zlatan admires you then that means you are really good. Zlatan has never had respect for anyone apart from himself.
Since when Zlatan has great understanding of football. Not all great players understand the game they play that well, actually. That's why many of them don't become successful coaches and less famous players often become great coaches. For example, 3 guys from same team : Ancelotti , Van Basten and Gullit. Now, Ancelotti was a good player but not a star like Van Basten or Gullit, however compare what he achieved as a coach with them. Now , if it would be someone like Cruyff talking, that's a different story. Guy was not only a amazing player, but had also great understating of game of football. Only Rijkaard from Dutch trio had a great success as a coach , but it was short-lived and his career overall isn't on same level as Ancelotti
Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, was one of the most respected, loved and feared strikers in the game. He is the only Ronaldo and back in his day.......the lethal Ronaldo. Players feared him, his fans adored him but lets not forget.....he was injury prone.
wow, never knew Ronaldo could speak English. this is so great, i hope to find more interviews with him that i actually can understand. what a legend. he looked like death in 2002 Final, though. i remember that journalists didnt even know that he has medical problems and noone was saying anything about that he had sickness or temperature. but he looked very bad, very exhausted and it was visible. he did what he had to do anyway, scored twice in the winning final.
It makes sense because most Brazilians are free and passionate people, if we look at all thier superstars, I think mentally was thier weak side but no disrespect they are my favorite people love them all and their best players are my inspiration
The true story is that prior to the game, he received a number of knee infiltrations, which if not properly injected can cause convulsions. There was a coverup from federation to protect the team doctor and medical staff. Seeing Ronaldo in that state before the gam shocked the entire team and that's why they didn't perform. Also if you watched the previous games, you'd have seen that team was never in great form and struggled hard vs Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, even Scotland.
Look at his career with all those horrible injuries and the times he came back and still dominated. Now imagine him without all those injuries, he would have been the best. Ronaldo pre 2000's was simply unstoppable, well except maybe with poison
Im nO Bro I have always said and thought that. That was one of the biggest mistakes the CBF, Zagallo, and Zico made by not calling Romario into the 1998 squad. The outcome would have been different with Romario on the pitch. With regard to the convulsions episode we all know that they poisoned the guy as he was the main threat to the French team...
This guy wasn't only a very smart player but he was very smart as an individual, he could speak English, Italian, Spanish, some French, and Portuguese.
That's not true neymar and Ronaldinho speak English but they kind of not confident enough to speak in public They have friends from all countries they sure speak with them that's a different environment from speaking on a interview
This is bull***. No way pressure made him get the convalsions, the guy was in wc1994, he was an absolute beast throught wc98 then he is sick against france, come we understand wat a threat he was to his opponents but dont try to say he crumbled under pressure
Yeah, but in 96-98 he was a superstar, he was way better than anybody else including Zidane or Romario, he was a god so the pressure on him was much more than in 94 where he didn't play...
I think that even if Ronaldo had been 100% in that final with France in 1998, anyway, Brazil would have lost the final that time. France on defense was very solid and with a very good marking.
Idk why they skipped this man from best of all time has trophies in every way possible World Cup and club championship and they say Messi or C.ronaldo is better can me on man this man is the goat
