On Spill The Tea, Ronit Roy is reliving 10 years of Vikramaditya Motwane's Udaan! The actor tells Sneha Menon Desai how he landed the role, and a scene he felt he was particularly good at. Ronit also shares incredible anecdotes from the sets of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Adaalat, which made him the household name he is today.

He was also awesome in Ugly. That was a criminally underrated film and leaves a deep impact. I wish he does more such movies like Udaan and Ugly. Amazing actor.

Every actor needs a turning point in his career...Udaan was for Ronit Roy. The film bounced back his career into the movies again and made him noticeable. He is one of the underrated actor in the industry. Hats off to Anurag Kashyap for reintroducing him to cinema. Udaan is one of the best films of the decade.

Udaan was both a blessing and curse for Ronit. After that, he got heavily stereotyped as the “silent angry” actor on movies
@ubermensch-

Mmmm I dont think so, see he got Homeland and Zero dark thirty and he missed both thats the curse. Bollywood was never accepting towards the TV actors you can freshly see SSR story.

The Film which gave us Rajat (I feel bad for him he deserves so much more), Ronit sir (comeback), and Amit Trivedi sir. Songs and background scores were out of this world brilliant and adequate without hampering the pace of the story. I fell in love with Jamshedpur and will visit one day just to re-live the film.

Dabanng won best film over Udaan at the Filmfare Awards. This is why India's submission to the Oscars will never win. Because we cant even appreciate movies that deserve recognition and we celebrate mediocrity.

I rather disagree. This film did more for me and many others than any other film ever could have. I was brought back from a state of finishing myself to emotionally expelling myself and have a fresh start at life. This movie played such an impactful role in so many teenagers lives. It was a truly awe inspiring film, though not commercially huge. It retouched the true meaning of what cinema is supposed to be. Something that touches you in a way that you're never the same again. For me this film did what Dada Saheb's features managed to do. And that's a true landmark

Apart from the cast I also feel that the city of Jamshedpur where this was shot was also a important factor in the narrative.The film has given the city an identity. The upcoming movie Dil Bechara would be another one which has been shot in the city. One may find few similar locations in both the movies
@niveditabhalla7230
@niveditabhalla7230 4 года назад
yeah it certainly supported the old town with nothing but steel factories set up. Dead and dull like the life of the city and Rohan that too came through very well with the natural colour scheme of the film.
@arafat9828
@arafat9828 3 года назад
@@niveditabhalla7230 Dead and dull is not how I'd describe Jamshedpur at all tho. That's just the father's perception of life. In fact, Jamshedpur is the most "clean and green" cities in Jharkhand and Eastern India

If you ask me, she isnt truly a reviewer 😂😂. She even gave a bad review for films like joker because she thinks the film supports "murder" and will spoilt the youth. This aunty needs to go away 😂😂

Bhairav Singh's character was the most familiar character I had ever seen on film or television till that point. I too was raised in Ranchi and Jamshedpur and had seen countless Bhairav Singhs working as officers in TATA and SAIL. Every thing in his personality and behaviour was like watching a playback.Mr Ronit played that part inch perfect, not a single false note. It's like he got inside the mind of one of these people and absorbed everything.

I have sweetest memories of Jamshedpur where I started my job and spent initial years of my married life. Now watching the film was like traveling back to my memory lanes . It was a very refreshing experience to watch all those locations once again. As regards the movie, it is remembered for powerful performances of the lead actors.However in my opinion, the portrayal of the father could be softer and the Director could have avoided to portray him like a villain. A father can be strict and conservative but not a villain .
