My mother loved this song,as well as Ms.Gilbert. What a talent she was.

My mom’s name is Irene. I dream of her often. She died in 2016 at the age of 95. We were lucky to have her so long. I was living in San Francisco in 1988. Saw the original broadcast of this ‘San Francisco Sing Along’ on local PBS. Remember American folk music and where it came from. It is precious. Thanks for posting this.

Always last song played at wedding dances in my youth. My Grandma had a presence and voice like Ronnie's. We cousins always called Grandma the duchess. Love Ronnie Gilbert.

The guy at 1:45 looked almost like Alfred Hitchcock

This was a #1 song in 1950 but the fascist pigs blacklisted the Weavers and there were no more hit songs on the charts.
