Henry wasn't that talented tbh very methodical action not much cue power dosnt play with alot of side as tables and cushions very responsive these days no safety game lucky to win all titles davis was just coming to the end as was higgins white should of had a few worlds but threw them away,I would put him.on a par with john Higgins talent wise but well behind white Higgins and even trump.

It makes the spine tingle, just listening to, and admiring these two incredible legends. It is so rare in sport that the two total legends of the sport be sat on the same couch. I can think only, of Ali and Foreman, Borg and McEnroe (or Federer and either Djok or Nadders)... this interview is in that category. The humility of BOTH players is incredible. But that is greatness I guess. O'Sullivan is undoubtedly the greatest player in history, but it took Davis, then Hendry to make him that.

The two greatest of all time. I’ve always felt if Ronnie, who is always my favourite player, had the same ruthless desire to win as Hendry did, he’d be on ten world titles at least. They may be different in ways, but their collective records are awe inspiring.

Great to watch and listen to this interview. You get to see the real Ronnie O'Sullivan come out. Not the one who makes various comments during tournaments that get people annoyed with him and call him arrogant. He isn't arrogant. His comments are more coming from feelings of being uncomfortable as he says. He doesn't socialize with any of the players really. All but a few are part of a new generation.

1:26 am Sydney Aus time I’ve always wanted to play like these 2. What an honour to even play Snooker with these 2 in mind. I have played Snooker for many many years, I used to play competitive all the time in the late 1990’s and so on. I came runner up in the Championship finals against several males at the time. I had my own cue, chalk etc. I spent hours and hours practicing, I took it very seriously. Anyway, fast forward until 2023, I haven’t played for a long Time and really miss the competitive side of it. I was so proud I got a trophy being the only female at that time to have earned one at the Championships I played in. It was the best days I’ve had in the way of competing in anything. I would love to play again, however over the last several years my responsibilities changed due to parenthood etc. I will def play again, I really don’t want to lose the technique of playing, and all the little things I’ve spent hours upon hours on in the past. These 2 GODS are the absolute best, aside from Eddie Charlton of course, to play even a smidge like these GODS would be an absolute GIFT. #Legends

I think Ronnie had just won a minor tournament, and the interview was later that same day, basically, this is the best interview Ronnie has ever given, Stephen asked all the right questions, that real fans would ask, not the morons on the tv channels, Ronnie nearly always interrupts, disagrees with the interviewer, because the games important points, are not the parts tv morons want to talk about, to them it’s all about raising the atmospheare for effect, Stephen is obviously one of the few snooker players that Ronnie will go to for a chat, cause he’s the only one whose done the business. I’m not sure that Davis is as liberal with his views, Davis is not a martinet, but he’s too disciplined for Ronnie, I believe.
@williambremner9022
@williambremner9022 3 года назад
Plus Davis and Ronnie have locked horns on more than one occasion when the former has openly disagreed with Ronnie's behavior, or some comment or...and with Hendry it is truly a peer-to-peer discussion between equals and Ronnie genuinely respects the man. With other interviewers asking their boring or inane questions Ronnie simply doesn't have the inclination or respect to bother, and why should he. Ask intelligent questions, get intelligent answers. But this was a lovely interview - one of the best ever.

Has anyone ever had a more perfect sporting career than Ronnie from a fan's perspective? Sure, there have been more dominant champs and more clear cut GOATs, but from a pure entertainment perspective I can't think of anyone. Let me know if you think anybody else can match Ronnie for: 1) Longevity - First ranking title at 17, and winning the World's again at 44 2) Unpredictability - You never know when he is going to have a good tournament (Hendry's dominance was hardly exciting) 3) Talent - left hand playing, 5 Minute 147, need I go on?

@SnookerFan-kl1jj
@SnookerFan-kl1jj 3 года назад
@Truth God Yes Hendry scored 7 centuries against the Doc in the 94 UK Final. The only thing that proves is that he won 7 frames. Same.goes for the WC in 02. He set the benchmark with 16 tons, but it didn't do him much good since he lost to Ebdon in the final. You haven't put forward a very compelling case for Hendry I'm afraid.
@SnookerFan-kl1jj
@SnookerFan-kl1jj 3 года назад
@Truth God His head to head against Hendry says otherwise. Put simply Ronnie at his best was simply too good for Hendry. If your not sure you can find both their WC SF from 04 and 08 on RU-vid to remind you of that fact.
@SnookerFan-kl1jj
@SnookerFan-kl1jj 3 года назад
@Truth God First of all Hendry did not "whoop Ronnie". In 95 he beat Ronnie when he was 19 (how many WC did Hendry win at 19). Ronnie was not at his best but still extended Hendry to 13 - 8 (he was unlucky to split the pack and see a red go in off, when it was only 9 - 8). The other two matches in 99 and 02 were classics and Hendry had to play out of his skin to beat Ronnie. Here's where it gets interesting, as good as Ronnie played in those two SF he played even better in the next two. Basically Ronnie peaked from 2004 - 14, when in top form he was unplayable. That Ronnie would have wiped the floor with "peak" Hendry and he was already giving Hendry all the trouble he could handle, like embarrassing him in the UK F 93 when he was only a 17 yr old kid playing for fun. Also Hendry's so called decline is an excuse by his fanboys, as he was always up for it when he played O'Sullivan. You are wrong about Ronnie not competing with Hendry over longer matches as he floored him in 2 UK finals and 2 WC SF.

@@SocietyIsCollapsing There is no limit to setting records. Also Hendry achieved his success over a weak field. Ronnie has not been so lucky because he has had to lock horns with great players. A little known fact Hendry only beat one player who won a WC and was ranked No 1 for his 7 titles (Steve Davis 94 SF). Ronnie has had to beat 6 WC, 5 of them former No 1s on a whopping 9 occasions. No contest really.

Very prophetic of Ronnie to mention Luca. This world championships might have been the torch being past. I'm now doubting that Ronnie will win number 8. I fear he will announce a retirement come 2025 after a loss in 2024. Snooker will lose it's Pele. The greatest to play the game.

Hmmm interesting Ronnie said he would swap 6 titles for the WC. Wonder if Trump feels like that just now.

It's great to hear that Steve is coming back , tired of Ronnie's petulance... We want Steve...Steve was a man that didn't waver, he didn't complain, he won. He'd slap Ronnie silly.

Stephen is broke and needing a vanity compensation. He isn't practising. When he played White he was absolutely woeful, awful. He's going to embarass himself.

Yessssssss. Stephen Hendry is still the best in terms of history. Without the match fixing and corruption Ronnie would have beat his record.

The referry should carry an extra black ball in his pocket for quick switch. Than Ronnie can break his 147 speed record
