It’s funny, when Ronnie switches hands, you don’t notice. But when Judd, Jack, Kyren play with opposite hand, it’s really obvious - you don’t associate their stance with the opposite hand, and they feather the ball far more times. Ronnie is just a natural supertalent! It’s one thing to be the GOAT with his good hand, but he is also the GOAT at opposite hand play..

I notice when he changes hands the same way it is obvious that the other talented players you mentioned have changed hands and stance.

it’s almost second nature to him. I can play pool with both hands so I tried it at snooker and it was just so much more difficult. How he does this so easily is genius

Awesome frame. Cesar, I've been exclusively watching your channel for snooker for multiple months now. Love your subtle editing and good half hour length videos. I watch on TV RU-vid and even got my parents interested in snooker. Had I not come across your channel after watching a few Hot Snooker compilations I wouldn't be so invested in snooker. I live in Montana and don't have a snooker table for at least 8 hours from me yet I bought a snooker cue for 8 ball which is the standard in the US. I even bought a lower end Ronnie backed cue from riley. Thanks Cesar for continuing to source out enjoyable matches!
@spencerbrinton1397
@spencerbrinton1397 2 года назад
I use all the English terminology for pool now like "pace" and "the pot is on" and "clearance" which is obscure and different from US terminology. I have to explain what I'm talking about to my 8 ball pool buddies 😂
@bbftb8791
@bbftb8791 Год назад
@@spencerbrinton1397 It's good that you're interested, but why would you buy a snooker cue to play pool? It's the equivalent of buying yourself a ball designed to be used for American football and using it to play "soccer"
@spencerbrinton1397
@spencerbrinton1397 Год назад
@@bbftb8791 that's a great question people ask me often. It started when I seen another guy using a snooker cue and I got to talking with him. I was fascinated by how small the tip is and I mostly just wanted to try it out. There's pros and cons however. I've become more accurate at applying English, but it's easier to miscue. It's easier to bridge over balls or cue between balls because I can get in tighter spaces. Pool balls are only a little bigger but it does mean I have to put more work into cue-ing if I need to do a cross table stop shot for example. (I've later realized when I finally try a snooker table and smaller lighter balls I will have garnered great cue power that should translate to some crazy long pots) I'm still rusty at backspin but when I use my regular pool cue the accuracy translates and I can get great backspin with a standard cue because of more tip gripping the cue ball. If/when I buy another American pool cue I am not going to settle for anything that doesn't use stick extensions. My snooker cue's extensions are so incredibly useful. Basically it came down to I watch more snooker than American 8 or 9 ball and I wanted to emulate the pros I look up to.

This year was exhausting for ronnie in my book, he had to open the tournament as defending champ against up and coming star, so he put in all the work ,Reardon was really happy after that match then he shaves his head which means he is on a mental tightrope the carter match he is holding it all together then plays day 10/11 against the selby on steroids (ebdon) I would love to have heard Readon talk with him in the interval . Truly believe he had snooker depression the scary thing is I think if steven lee beat ebdon ronnie would have won the tournament in the state he was in. Great video 👍

Ahh, you found some old gold for us 👍. I used to have piles of vhs tapes back in the early 90’s , including several hours of footage from John Parrott winning the WC in 1991. I don’t know where they disappeared to though and don’t even have a vhs if I did find them. Parrott played amazingly well. I wouldn’t mind seeing that again.

Here in Australia we play a game known as Australian Rules. These days it's better known as AFL. 20 years ago a player who could use both sides of his body was a freak. These days players have to be proficient left or right just to get a game. Of course young players who want to be great are going to copy ROS, he is the GOAT after all. Thanks, Cesar.... Still waiting for the o'Sullivan Trump final man...

I'm a lefty that was forced to be right handed by my Catholic teachers because they thought being left handed was the devils work. I shoot pool and a pew pew lefty but write(poorly) right handed. I will say I am ambidextrous because of it and I do practice playing right handed too.

its given a little more credit than its due. but it is rare for a player to use their non dominant hand in a professional match, especially as much as ronnie. No one else can match that. left handed play isn't as hard as people make out, but most won't take the risk in a real match or devote time to practicing it.
