Earl was in the booth with that English announcer on one of these mosconi cup vids and he lost his temper. I think this interview he put on his best behavior. Lol
Nick was always my favorite player back in the day, but american billiards started to bore me after I discovered Snooker. Ronnie is the greatest of all time.
I like snooker but the format is so long and boring. I do like watching highlights of it more than pool though. Pool is also stale but atleast it's fast-paced
@@samme79 What format? Some matches are races to five some matches are races to 35. It's just like any other tournament. And it varies with every combination in the middle. How can you say the format is long?
@@stv8361we all know Efren is great. We don't need an army of his fans spamming every pool video to remind us. Go watch and comment on some Efren matches if that's all you're interested in.
didnt even read the comments, i double checked myself, called foul, and looked through comments. So the legends cheat too.... wow. that sort of doublehit you can feel!.
@@justachristian4072 nope it didnt. If you cant see that it goes about 2 or 3 mill's forward first, then u sir, should never be a ref in pool or snooker :D
Nope, CB stopped. Double hit would mean some sort of forward momentum after that (and there could never be enough draw to cancel that out from the way he was shooting)
@@frederiquerijsdijk I think you are referring to a push shot. Here there is no push for forward momentum. The cue ball leaves cue, touches object ball, draws back and touches the cue again.
When no one was sure what nick was doing. He was giving Ronnie a shot where it was impossible to pot the ball and land on the next one. Ronnie shot it with out hesitating
Totally pointless, it would just be like watching Ronnie practice, as Nick would just be sitting in his chair. All snooker players can play pool but very ,very, very few pool players can play snooker to any standard
In snooker, the cushions play way less square so ronnie was struggling with getting out of them. On a snooker table, ronnie would murder him 15 0 in 15 frames
Played ronnie at a time he only just won a few trophies. Ronnie is early 20s here. Nick is an experienced pool player who has played pool double as many years as double Ronnie's age in this video! As I comment ronnie is 7 time world snooker champion, and notably the best natural cue player snooker has ever seen. Jim rempe was AMAZING in pool against the snooker players!!! Now look at Jim rempes snooker record as I believe he's the only American born player to play on the Pro circuit of snooker, 120 I believe his top rank was. Last match was against Stephen hendry and lost 14-7 or something like that. 👍:)
@@muzakiryounis8893 exactly! you cannot see any pool players trying to compete in snooker, but you can see snooker players beating pool players in their own game
In the league i played in there were many unwritten rules but understood by everyone.on your shot Picking the white ball up after a foul even if its to hand to your opponent in sportsmanship(it should be your opponent to pick it up), stopping the white from going down the pocket even if its 100% going down, cracking the thread or unscrewing a 2 piece cue and leaving your chalk on the table will all result in you forefitting the match and accepting the loss on the scorecard. This was Traditional English on a 6x3 table
Ok, let's get something straight here, no one uses the word "boing" to describe a damp table here in the US. We use "action" or "dead", "bounce" or "thud". "Boing" describes the reaction of a spring, and that would mean the cushions -- or rails -- have good action. Otherwise they are dead, slow or poor.
Varner's errors in the second set have me stunned. Yes the first error might have been a miscue, but two miscues in a row? It seems to say Varner's cuing off the rail with high ball cuing is deficient
If you listen to what was actually said I think you'll find it makes sense. The commentator said the word bounce then said to Earl or boing as you call it. Then he started talking about dry tables and how they react BUT that had nothing to do with boing, they said the different terms that English and Americans use,English say bounce,Americans say boing
Earl: He's more intelligent than I am, I just got some other weapons that are a bit stronger than his Commentator: Like what? Confidence? Earl: Shotmaking. Strickland really doesn't go easy on complimenting himself! And it's obvious.
@@TRANC3ak47 yeah, I completely agree. His attitude is a little off putting. But his skill on the table especially with his speed makes him one of the most fun to watch in my opinion
@@michaelsalama6631 When I met SVB, he was openly confident like that too. I figure he's earned the right to be confident with all the work he's put in.
I think Ronnie did pretty well considering. What id like is if they played 50/50 9 Ball and Snooker. This way it would even things out a bit more. USA is always gonna win 9 Ball ...And you know Ronnie and company would win in snooker. It would never happen, but it would be awesome.
USA is always gonna win 9-Ball? From Wikipedia: “Team Europe beat Team USA 11-3 on 4 December 2020. By ending USA's two year run, Team Europe evened out the overall series record at 13-13, with one tie.”
It's virtually impossible to miss a straight in shot on a 9 ball table...but there is a craft to it and it's about realising the possibilities that are on with such forgiving pockets
Just shows the fundamental differences between snooker and pool. Ronnie failed to get out of a few snookers on a much smaller table which he'd have no problem with at snooker. Totally different game so all of this snooker is superior is complete BS. Incomparable. Crazy watching Nick having a smoke In between frames, those were the days!!
Having played snooker for 12 years, and then moving to america 2 years ago. Id like say that both games are very different. In my opinion it is easier to transfer snooker fundimentals to pool than pool to snooker. Snooker demands alot more from a person on a mental and physical level. I am by no means the best at either game but i had taken my pool team to a billliards hall and it had taken 5 hours before someone knocked in a convincing 40 break.
Snooker is MUCH HARDER than pool and that's a FACT . I play pool and I'm quite good but I can't even get a 30 break on a snooker table. All snooker players can play pool but very few pool players can play snooker. Only people that have never played on a full size snooker table think different
@@Neto808 I dont believe that story. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-90x7aK9sRyE.html this is Reyes playing snooker, does he look like he's capable of beating even O'Sullivan as a kid? Legendary pool and billard player but he's not the standard to trouble a decent snooker player without a pretty big handicap. I think Daryl Peach is the only person ever said that Reyes beat Ronnie at snooker and I just don't believe that story.
@@jimmynich4791 ronnie confirmed it on twitter but didn't give any details mobile.twitter.com/ronnieo147/status/1112759965549281281 Some article says O'Sullivan gave Efren a 25-point advantage before the match started. That supposedly happened in 1991 when Ronnie was 15 years old.
He beat a 14 year old kid and he had a head start,if they played as adults then he wouldn't win a game if they played for a week. Efren is the king of pool but he wouldn't stand a chance at snooker against an adult Ronnie without a head start
@Hassan Ahmad is that the reason your greatest snooker player, Ronnie osullivan got his ass handed to him when he tried to participate in a major pool tournament. Do a search on RU-vid, the ipt 8 ball tournament. U will see what i am talking about. Einstein, in pretty much every bar got a pool table to play with. Hardly any snooker table anywhere. Don't you think if snooker tables were easily accessible, pool players could make that transition easily. Got news for you, snookers derive from 14.1 straight pool.
@@seandesir7272 as it is in every other pub, that's the reasons it is a peasantry sport. If you want to see ball potting everyother second, follow pool. Snooker is way more positional that pool. And i don't talk about accuracy and precision, that will make pool players hang there head in shame.
@@seandesir7272 accept the fact, to pro pool players pool is a profession. To snooker players, pool is a joke. Ronnie and Davis crossed the bridge and gave pool players their run for their money. Every seen a naturalised pool player make a transition?? ( don't say selby, selby was coached in snooker willie thorne and then he went to pool to make pool more miserable).
@@infamousroy4421 just stop acting like a butthurt bitch Both games are awesome to watch and play, there is no need for comparisons Just enjoy both games, they both are interesting and great for there respective reasons
That's because most americans don't care about snooker...they don't enjoy the game. That's why you don't see a bunch of snooker halls in the US. I can't even watch the thing it's so boring.
