I wish the Sims 4 devs would do something about the messy lighting engine. The indoor and outdoor lightings are so vastly different and the game does such a bad job of determining which to use where. If you build anything more complex than just four walls and a roof, you're bound to run into lighting issues. It's 2020, more and more games are shipping with path tracing and somehow this incredibly successful game published by such a big publisher has such poor lighting.
They made the game in DX9 which may or may not prevented them from making a better lighting. That's my biggest complain mostly, DX9 last update was around 2006 and yet they kept making games with it and as a result the gameplay performance suffers terribly. If only they made a new engine with DX11 back then we may still have open world feature in Sims game.
@@demodude6865 Rumor has it that the next base game release might use Unreal engine, judging by a job listing from EA recently. Guess this in-house made engine really show a shrewd of problems as years gone by, eh?
Thank you for posting this! You would think that the developers would give us an easier way to create curvature ceilings and attic spaces with proper indoor lighting. Pretty lazy of them.
It's not often a tutorial will make my jaw drop! This did it for sure!!! Sitting here trying to do it as I'm watching is a GREAT help. Thank you sooooo much!
You truly are brilliant, one of the best builders on Sims 4 builds, I love and respect all your work. Thank you for this I'm saving it so I can come back to it and practice these techniques.
This is exactly what I needed! Great video, thank you so much for taking the time to share with us, not only the visuals but the tips as well. I just subscribed based off this video!
Thank you for this! I never would have thought of making skylights. I love that no mods were used. While the TOOL mod can do some cool stuff, I find it so confusing to use, so I don't even bother with it.
If you hold shift while placing an object it will let you place it multiple times and when you are done just let go of shift on the last item as you place it down. Idk if people know that but it makes it a little easier, so you don’t have to click copy every time.
Honestly, I would've probably either bulged arched window roofs out of triangular shingled or just gone right for the roofing option from Werewolves and hoped for the best...
Hi! Thank you so much for this video. I have a question tho, how can I cover the other side of the room in the first example? The skylight side looks awesome, but the other one doesnt have a roof at all. I tried a few ideas but I cant make it work.
This is super neat! Is it possible to have a slanted roof without the windows? I’m trying to build a house in my neighborhood that has slanted walls upstairs.
this is such an amazing tutorial, thank you so much! ❤️ i have a question tho, will the roofs work with the seasons pack? like if it rains or if there’s thunder, the sim won’t be affected?
