Vancouver is notorious for seriously inflated house prices and grocery prices but does making 300K a year and saying you're struggling to pay for your bills make you worthy of sympathy?
I understand where this guy Paymon is coming from: He probably thinks that by relinquishing this current lifestyle, it is a sign of failure in life and failing his family. I think I would personally feel like that too, having worked so hard to get to where I am today, to be able to provide for my family and then to lose it all in one fell swoop...I would be beyond words.
I feel like there is another method to solve this problem that the couple has by changing their lifestyle habits. If they're not going to go with the showhost's advice, the husband could drive a more modest car, spend much less on their groceries, pause the gym membership, rent out their entire home even while they go rent someone else's basement until the rates come down and the wife is back at work.
What do you guys think? What would you do in Paymon's situation?
