As a street cop n a former life who didn't get near enuff training but who often cleared rooms on a daily basis and just had to make the best of what I knew at the time.. this is GOOD STUFF. Thanks for putting some of this stuff out there to get these guys thinking and I can nearly promise you that your videos are going to (if they haven't already) save a good guy's life. Keep up the good work!
Used to play "bad guy" for a local PD's SRT group in a shoot house with simunitions. This is so true. There were two officers (and one of them was the instructor) who were very proficient (prior military) and the rest not so much.
I get this Is a joke but fun fact the flamethrower itself doesnt have aton of casualties from war. Where it shined was when you used it the enemy didnt want to be on fire so they ran out of cover THEN got shot lol
Nunya Bizness www.classicfirearms.com/xproducts-xm42-lite-flamethrower-black/ Yer welcome....... I admit it’s a bit tough to concealed carry but I live in an open carry state. And it’s a really polite one, everyone says excuse me sir and gets out of my way, let’s me have the first cash register in stores and gets out of my way at the gas station too. Yay TN.
@@jinlim6575 lets not make assumptions. im for legalizing all drugs... i certainly dont support police arresting people for drugs. by hostiles i mostly meant people in war. if you're brave enough to rush up into an Afghani compound knowing there are men with rifles and inside ready to shoot and possible IED's, you're a badass. that was my point.
yeah maybe brave but also ignorant of why they are raiding the person other than they were ordered to cause "terrorist". the us burns weed fields while protecting poppy fields kinda weird how so much heroin started being produced after the us went over there.... oh and the person that made this video trains cops to do no knock raids on people.
Eric's face throughout this whole video, clueless, scared, feeling alone, and definitely not prepared to add anything to the conversation other than "I completely agree (and have nothing to add because I'm out of my element)"
@Otium Borealis But it is partly because of the door swinging open and blocking your view in some cases. The tough part would be foreseeing whose home or building you will need to clear and getting them to install these doors ahead of time. It wouldn't make as much sense to install them on your own home or business of course.
@@atypical_moto Maybe someplace public where you run the risk of barricaded subjects with the intent to provide some life-saving options already in place for police entry teams that give them an edge over the bad guys. Like an office building or a bank.
As the person who owns the door, wouldnt you want to create a fatal funnel? I mean, isn't the last thing you want an intruder to have, is an easier time?
@@weege5.45 I just figured out the design. We'll make our doors out of some sort of material that you can see through. The name is on the tip of my tongue. I want to say Grass but that's not right....
TRUE STORY: Wife just tossed a hangar at me but I heard her getting all “tee-hee 😂😝” on me so I did a tactical peek and it saved my skin. Good looking out John!
There's also a severe disadvantage to the one who doesn't know the building well vs one who does. My house is intentionally designed like a wood rat's nest with 8 exterior doors. Good luck figuring out which one I'm behind before I know where you are and have my shot lined up.
Hs Hs i live in a two story duplex and can angle over the banister right down to the front door so if a tango wants to tango he’s gonna get rounds right into the top of his noggin! Also......I desire flashbangs!
BRIEFING: BLAAAH BLAH BLAAHB BLABLABLBAH BLAAAH ENGAGE ALL TARGETS...... MEN: ENGAGE ALL TARGETS???? (PROCEEDS WITH GRINCH SMILE) HOLD MY BEER... I GOT IT!!!!
Lol, that was so vivid, it made me crack up in the middle of the night, I love the sudden tangents, I do the same shit. I wonder if John is a only child or distant youngest? I have an 8 year gap to next oldest, am youngest, similar sense of humor
I know a woman who survived a man trying to saw her head off. No one came to help her. She had to fight to escape. Good reason for women carrying a weapon
@@Howdy762 It was her boyfriend/husband. He just lost his mind and went fuckin nuts and tried to saw her head off in the driveway of their house. I don't remember the details, It was an old friend of mines sister. She had scars all around her neck and down her back. I dont remember the details exactly, i heard the story about 10 years ago, But i know if she was able to pull a gun to defend herself, It wouldn't have gone that far.
@@RowdyRedBeard fuck!!!! 0.0 scars on her neck good god i cant imagine how she felt seeing the person who you're supposed to trust turning on you. yes he must have gone crazy because it doesn't sound like she did anything egregious.
Yes sir! I get to practice your points a lot too. I do a good bit of service call work and routinely work on room clearing the homes and businesses I frequent. Good stuff!
Lol... of course not...My service calls are usually done when they are at work. I just have to do the repair. Leaves the house wide open for me.lots of different house plans. I like how you think I though.
One day I'm going to click on a cool video picture of Spec Ops guys dressed in cool gear, and when I click the video to play, it is, instead, going to have you and your bro in this video, dressed in MOPP gear, with your wife in the background, saying to you, with feather duster in hand - "You missed a spot over their sweetheart."
John, the way you smiled, chuckled, and said “I know” when you were talking about that intro makes me feel like you took that from a real life experience
*EXCELLENT TACTICS* 1. I've cleared by myself when no backup available but typically it's my partner & I. 2. We typically announce ourselves BEFORE entry. *YOUR THOUGHTS ?*
Context is important. Is there a known suspect/assailant? What type of urgency is there (Active shooter vs. old lady who came home and found her door open)?, What's the purpose behind clearing the structure? All important details to determine when someone should or should not announce.
You, sir, are destined for stardom. The creativity of the opening, and Sportmans Club ad were terrific! Then, we get great instruction as well. Good job. Thanks
Those 3 cops last week should have seen this first, cop#1 kicked in the door and got shot immediately, cop#2 panicked at cop #1 and froze up, barely made it out from in front of the window before gunblast barely missed him, cop. #3 with body exposed takes a round in the hand and gets knocked out of the fight, these dudes are brave , just glad the situation turned out ok, it clearly could have been 3 dead officers...
Great tactics but instead of jumping in a room when you can't see behind door , I'm curious why you don't teach a quick peek while foot blocking door then move in. Or ram/break door on entry ? why would you jump into a room behind an obstruct view door very dangerous risky tactic.
I've been waiting for this since I saw the intro on IG. That was hilarious. Good tips from the infantry/PO view. I was a tanker. We were taught a different way to clear houses. :)
The Army would not do a quick peak or pull back. They flood and shoot whoever they see. Because of the windows and double doors we wouldn't go thru there. That is a lose lose way! We would go from the back back door and leave some guys pointing at the front!
I recommend watching Eli Feildboy from Project Gecko. he has some great tactics for solo room clearing. His Technique focuses more on clearing and fighting from outside the room. The biggest thing in this tactic is that you are slower. so if we have that scenario of your wife getting sawn to pieces you won't be as fast as pushing in. but at least you will be much safer.
I'd like to get some Gear But I have never been in the military and don't want to seem like I'm trying to look like I was I mean I have had friends who have had people come up to them talking about Stolen Valor just because they where wearing Camo and I have Extreme Respect for those who serve or served and don't want to piss anyone off
Another point that should be made here is that in the military it's always mission before self preservation. If you go down your buddy is right behind you to take up the fight. If you're by yourself and you're the only one there to complete the mission, you need to put your self preservation higher on the priority list. You go down now and there's no one to save your wife... or husband as the case may be, from being cut up. Fight smarter when you're by yourself.
I'm not trying to sound like a troll but think about it. You're shooting into a dark room when your eyes are adjusted for outside lighting. It's a recipe for disaster. You might see the shape of a bad guy moving against a window but not make out that he's holding your kid in his arms or your wife is positioned on the couch behind him. Basic rule of gun safety you yourself teach - know what's in the area you point your gun before you fire. In this case you're almost blind.
We utilized Israeli tactics at my old job. It was slow, methodical, and it kept your back covered. We trained USMC clearing as well, but emphasized Israeli. It’s also very team centered, for those that are unaware, but leads better towards single person clearing... in my opinion.
So you kick the door in and back off which now takes away any element of surprise and gives those embedded in the house time to set up and wait for your entry... Do I have this right? Since you kicked in the door the person in the room with the windows now knows where you are and can snipe you through the glass... I would try another point of entry away from the windows. I don't like either one of the methods being on your own, but I do see the advantage of backing off. They always try to make it look easy in the movies... Don't get me wrong I am not the professional here you are.
No, no, no, no, no, NO! It's all about preparation!! Here, look, this is the way I clear a room. First, I eat a mixture of Pork & Beans, Cabbage, stale beer and whatever road-kill I can find....
Yeah I feel like the old team clearing method is death for the first guy in the room if the bad guy is in a corner. I always thought running in and a button hook would be stupid. Just my opinion.
@@jacobschneider2647 That's not what I mean. YouTune banned videos showing how to make custom shotgun shells. This is showing how to clear rooms. They are in the same category of activities people can do to gain an edge with firearms. This is the type of thing Gulag will try to remove.
Use your pistol for a quick peek so you can send lead if need be. Just looking will get you nothing but shot in my opinion. Nice work otherwise. Even the iraqi....🤣
John as a RU-vidr myself I really appreciate the time you put into all of your videos. I’ve been taking classes consistently for roughly 10 years and this is one of the topics that is really hard to get training on. There isn’t a lot of classes offered on this topic so I really appreciate the effort to give us viable information to help us make better Decisions. This type of information can increase our likelihood of survivability if we were ever unfortunately in a situation where we were forced to use these tactics. So Yay for that.
Now do it on a steel hulled warship with ladders, hatches, knee knockers, low hanging pipes, valves snagging all your gear, and its all moving around...good times haha (not to mention the noise and ricochet potential) There is always one guy in training that stalls out at the entry and gets lit up with sim rounds haha
John, although to you and me this is "duh" info, the transit from team to individual tactics is crucial. It's really just a change in mindset and anyone can do it.
