I'm 54 and still have epic amounts of toys I got before anime cons and such. It was A LOT harder to get anime and kaiju toys before conventions when you could just get stuff cheap at Asian grocery stores back in the 80s and 90s. And everything was cheap.Literally got almost entire rooms of toys back then for 50 cents to $3. Everything from Speed Racer to Voltron to Mazinger Z to anything else. We used to have a place called Anime Palace here in Columbus,Ohio and the guy would just sell you stuff out of his house and kitchen. Would get entire boxes of stuff the size of my car for $25. Back then most people didn't even care about anime or monster toys. Even Pony Toy Go Round was cheap.
