Delaware Water Features Over excavate the area where the vertical stones will be used. These rocks were 24” wide by 36”-48” long and 2”-3” thick these stones are typically laid flat for patios. We stood them on edge to create this effect. The area was excavated approx. 30” deep to accommodate the 24” stones. A bed of crushed gravel was placed on the bottom of the excavation on top of the liner, this allowed us to adjust them to the necessary height. Once the height was set we continued placing stones using smaller pieces of the same stone as spacers between them and then filled the remainder with river rock to give it the proper stability. A minimum of 50%’of the stone is buried for stabilization. Does that make sense?

shaymoose17 We’ll also turn the edge of the liner up 2”-3” above the Aquablox to create a deeper pooling effect, this can be adjusted depending on the project. Another important piece to remember is to leave enough of an infiltration area open to allow the water to return back to the pump. In areas where leaf debris is an issue leave several square feet of gravel without the “Bib liner” under it to allow for the capture of debris. In certain situations excess leaves or other debris can clog the gravel bed which would block the flow of water back into the pump.
