Annette Crosby has always been a class act. In fact "Rooms" has surprised me with the appearance of beautiful and talented ladies filmed at the high point of their careers in these delicious mini-dramas. I'm so happy that Annette and Jan are still with us but so sad about poor Jill.

A quality written series like this drew in many a fine actor to appear in its credits.

What a wonderful TV series. I just heard about it through a FB group I am in....So thankful for these TV shows that present living conditions in London during that era. Reminds me alot of living conditions in Manhattan, NY. Basically same poor living conditions, closet size apartments, high rents for the size and poor quality of renovations of an apartment or room and the interesting neighbors one encounters within the buildings ones lives in....I love british programs more realistic with actual social living conditons. NOT the pseudo crap one sees in american tv. - Peace S

Thank you kindly for your comment Sara, may I ask what FB group you learned of it from? Yes, I totally agree that television shows of yesteryear sway more towards portraying realism and do not shy away from truthfully representing the working class on screen. Thanks again for the kind comment!

"Rooms" is strangely addictive. I remember a shared Victorian house at the back of my Granny's house in Poplar East London,in the early 1970's with cartons of Ajax and empty milk bottles on the window ledges. Some old dear on the ground floor used to hang up teabags on the washing line to dry and use again! I miss those eccentric characters and the old bricks and shops with the old bacon and cheese cutters and the bakers selling warm bread pudding by the slice, doused in sugar. Happy days.....

*Play for today* & *world in action* are some of my fave 1960s/ & 1970s British TV shows. This_rooms_ is an interesting Series. Some of the episodes of _rooms_ are _stronger_ than the others. Thanks for sharing. :)

Nice to see Michael Gwynn playing roles other than the usual judge's and lawyers. We have watched quite a few episodes on Talking Pictures channel but we missed some so thanks for sharing MDC!

This is my kind of thing , I was born in the late 70s so obviously wouldn’t know about this series but I love a good screenplay 🙂

The same for me, and I have to admit to being very fond of this decade and the kind of television and film made during this time.

A delightful series of short stories centre's around Baron's Court, it's almost a snapshot of different people's lives under one roof. 1974-1977.

Bedsit life - depressing. Cooking in the same room you sleep in. Not to mention the greasy spot on the wall from the former tenant near the bed, and the brown furniture that still has local auction stickers on it.

How long do these furnaces last for until you got to recharge? Don’t tell me every hour!! We never had anything like that in our region, I think! Grew up in a home.. and I been to places but destiny had me returned back home.

Can anyone explain the part of the cryptic crossword clue ' four and three' and ' ending in d'? I understand the 'rose red' and 'eastern marvel' as well as the answer, but am flummoxed about the rest...
@peckerdecker

*rose red* is an *analogy* towards *this story* .... *Rose Red* also *means passion and communicates love* ..... (For these two characters)
