Having grinded through the Roon, I can honestly say that while I didn't hate the ship, I didn't love it either. In my opinion, there are 2 issues with the ship, 1. is a mixed bag and 2. is something I absolutely hated, about this ship is the turrets and their layout. 1. Having the A-XY turret setup ( 1 front, 2 rear) while great for running away, especially useful when you get a team full of potato's, makes for a rough experience when trying to push or move up. 2. Is that the rear turrets are not 360 degree designs. The lower tier T5 Konigsberg and T6 Nurnberg both share the awkward A-XY setup, but it's somewhat mitigated by having the 360 rears that allow you to swing the stern out to fire and then swing it back in to help avoid incoming fire, while Roon doesn't get that useful trait.

If the Roon had armor that didn't get overmatched by everyone, it would be a pretty good T9 ship. As it stands, it's a T8 with a T9 sticker.

I remember playing Roon a while back when grinding the German Cruisers. However after resetting my account I am struggling to find reason to Regrind the German Cruisers with all the BBs taking deadeye. Roon is especially affected by this since it is suited to kitting mostly. Until deadeye is fixed, no cruisers for me.

Better not pamper Roon too much, or else, if she sees you piloting another ship... there would be psychotic laughter coming for you...

Roon may not be as good as the hindy but by god is she a breath of fresh air compared to the hipper.

Roons citadel protection is not that much less than hindenbergs and generally quite solid for the most part. Roon for a long time was superior to Hindenburg until the rof buff cause you had similar firepower a whole tier lower. In some respects she still is superior, many of her stats are similar or better in a couple cases. Roon comes into her element as a kiting cruiser, maintaining the range and dealing consistent damage. She’s objectively one of the best, if not the best, tier IX non-premium cruiser with Brindisi being either a close second or equal to Roon. Admittedly Roon isn’t the easiest ship to play but when you figure her out she is a very capable and dangerous ship.

This is impressive for so many reasons. Phenomenal cruiser gameplay. Bravo

Solo Warrior reward really needs to be upped.. like a few thousand doubloons or something.

When you were mentioning the theoretical max healing and hp of the ship with perfect heals all game, it got me thinking, is there a reason you don't use mods? There are so many useful QoL ones like the one that shows you your maximum healing potential so you never "waste" a heal.

Concerning Roon's rudder: You do not need LS on her. There is an old reddit post about whether you need LS on cruisers. I do not know whether the numbers are still viable, but I have few reasons to believe that too much has changed in that regard. Unfortunately, the post was made before even the Italian cruisers came out, so there are a few ships missing and I have not found any newer ones. Flamu i put that -8sec reload buff on my algerie commander and i think it keeps glithing out. If i combine it with my reload boaster it glitches out and i have reload booster for the rest of the game. it says i have to wait 12 secs for reload but i can shoot after 5 secs. and it shows my reloadbooster resetting all the time. it was kinda op

Thank you this video is really helping me. I was struggling with the roon.

I absolutely love the Room. It is a real fire starter with the 10s reload and even if the armour isn't Hindenburg style I think it's still one of the best T9 in terms of sustainability. And honestly, the turret layout that some people don't like can be a great advantage if you are kitting away from your enemy. For me it is one of the ships I get the most reliable results and good damage almost all the time. Even if you happen to end up in a situation you shouldn't be it's almost impossible to be blown away with one salvo like it can happen with ships like Neptune, Domskoi or others.

I don't understand the complaints about Roon's armour. Most T9 cruisers aren't blessed with a 27 mm nose. Just reverse towards the enemy and you've got quite a decent ship.

I personally quite like Roon lol. It was painful to play stock but then again what isn’t right? After u mod it out and learn to WASD hacks, reverse in angled and play with ur speed it’s pretty fun
