Layne might be the most difficult vocalist to cover. This might be the best I've heard since Aaron Lewis covered this song. Superb performance. A slightly slower tempo would being this home if you decide to do this again.
I too give my very talented daughter guitar backing and harmony. Her interpretation was excellent. And yes, I too have changed a great deal over the last 12 years. LOL
She's been one of my favorite cover artists for the last decade, even though she's not active anymore. You two have a great relationship and shared talents, and I hope I can cultivate something similar with my daughter someday.

Son of my mother, I did NOT see this coming. It's fantastic. Young lady, you've a great voice, and kudos for not oversinging. Dad gets big ups. He plays well, he can sing, and he gives his baby girl the spotlight. I can't imagine my dad saying "hey gimme your bass, let's play that Bootsy Collins thing."

Listening to two descendants of American slaves (father and daughter) perform this brilliant ballad offers a whole new interpretation. Yet, as others have said, it's no different. I'm with Generation Films, this deserves Way more views.

errybody's entitled to a shit day. when i (yes,reluctantly) listened to this beautiful young person sing thisi thought "she may not even like it, shes singing because its her dads favorite song, a selfless small gesture that made a father so proud he wanted to share it with us.. so i listened...after 30 seconds or so it wasnt that raw, gritty AIC song i cherishedit was a love song from a daughter to her dad...made me cry... you have a great day M

This cover of Rooster is better than good. It's phenomenal. Rooster is my favorite song of all time and until I heard this I didn't like to hear anyone else even try to sing it. This blew me away, I could listen to it all day.

Damn, ten years late but PROPS!! That is the soul this song was sung right! Layne, god rest his soul and Jerry Cantrell wanted the soul you brought. This song, as you know was about Jerry's dad in Vietnam which is incredibly soulful to him, personally. This does the song justice. Keep up the voice my girl, you go talent!
