Just had this done and the only painful bit was the local anaesthetic, jaw ached a bit from keeping it open. Took about an hour. If it hurt alot, I suggest you change dentists in, my old one was in his 60's and absolutely brutal, would never let you rest your jaw or care what it felt like. Younger dentists have been trained better.
Your lucky my dentist was using the heat gun to cure the filling after root canal was complete, idiot burned the side of my cheek whilst I'm in pain could't say a thing with the bloody thing in my mouth then asks me if I'm ok after it's too late.
I had tooth dacay because of which my gums swelled up and I had excruciating pain so had to go the dentist n upon taking dental xray I was told that root canal has to be done, honestly I've heard that root canal treatment is the most painful procedure but it wasn't bad at all compared to the terrible tooth decay pain and discomfort I went through Infact it was painless the only setback was I lost the major part of my decayed tooth completely
Actually you won’t feel anything during the operation. It’s actually a satisfying feeling for real. You be thankful after the root canal. The only thing I hate is when they have to put the crown. That hurts a lot.
The only part you feel a bit of striking pain is where he takes out the veins and the nerves out of the canals with the needle like tool. Other than that, there is no pain at all. I have undergone this treatment.
Root Canal industry is among the most lucrative sectors of the national economy. Generously contribute like you are contributing to war effort. Gawd Bless...!
Recently, I had done 3 teeth Root canal which are almost broken one side from last 3/4 years & I was scared to go to dentist for which my teeth were damaged badly !! After completing all the process my dentist told me Girl!! You have a lot of patience & sometimes this patience isn't good for our health because I didn't do my treatment in time & it damaged very badly🙃 but Thanks to my dentist who back my smile again 😃😃
I had my root canal treatment done last week... Whenever I try to chew there it hurts a little as if I'm pushing the teeth down is this pain normal.? And furthermore is it normal to feel a little weird after getting a permanent crown ? I got my permanent crown yesterday and it feels a bit weird.. Moreover the dental crown feels a bit heavy... I don't know how to describe this feeling... And while chewing I feel a slight push on the root canal tooth... I'm really worried about it.. Is it normal for the first few days??
@@animeshupadrasta7971 Your new crown/ filling might be too high and in need of an adjustment - which is why you feel like you're pushing down the roots whilst chewing
My dentist refused to do a root canal before adding a crown to my top molar. For over 5 years I can't even chew on that side due to pain. I swear these dentists just want to keep you coming back to make money. Do it correctly the 1st time.
*Amazing graphics* _This is how root canal is supposed to be done perfectly_ _But sadly most of the dentists don't take this much pain once they convince the patient & get their fees_
Most importantly find yourselves an experienced dentist. My stupid dentist performed root canal on my lower molar which had a fine crack he didn't pickup even after x ray and photo zooming in.After few months had one hell of a pain in the root that I couldn't even touch it gently with my finger.I went back to the clinic he was no longer working there so other dentist examined and said it had a crack right through and got infected so prescribed antibiotics for clearing the infection and two weeks later got it pulled out.$1800 AUD for root canal and $150AUD to pull out.A total disappointment.
You would think that a mechanical engineering student wouldn't know anything about this, but the bending drill is made out of an alloy that we studied in the Tribology class, it is a memory-shape based alloy of nickel or sum and maybe titanium. It's hella expensive but the memory shape upon heating the alloy is quite amazing, there are resorts made out of this alloy that can lift up weights if the resort receives enough heat, and the most popular use of the alloy are the pins we all love or hate, they are made outta the same memory shape alloy. So yeah, the alloy is not only memory-shape based but also the most flexible type of alloy.
I had a root canal done and honestly I feel the dentist that did it just wanted to charge the insurance. Because he said I needed to come back for my other mollar done and I never went back. And years later I went to a dentist from my husband union dentist line. They did check up and x- rays and they told me I didn’t need a root canal. And I have realize I didn’t need that root canal the previous dentist did. Be aware some dentists are crook.
In 2016 I'm treated like this ....one of my tooth had severe pain due to my root was damaged then I consult a dentist he told me to undergo root canal treatment and he did it successfully 😊😊
When I had mine I had to go back in for three sessions. I was supposed to have a fourth one to make the crown but honestly the "temporary, it's going to crack easily" paste has been holding up fine for over 2 years. And, yes, it's on the side I eat.
My insurance wouldn’t cover a crown so I’ve just had that paste for about 6 years now no problems. But it will fail someday, no telling when. I went to the dentist and they told me that tooth had to come out eventually they can’t cap it anymore for some reason.
after reading most of people comments, I can come to conclusion that I am the one and only unlucky patient, I had mine done today, my first time and first visit, even with 4 injections I can still feel the pain, not sure what happened, but honestly speaking, I had bad experience, I can feel everything during the whole process, the drilling... I literally cry... not sure the cost of root canal in other country, my place about 2k + ++ in private clinic with 70% successful rate/ 3 visit. the dentist ask me to come again if the pain come back😭
@@kehlanidiaz327 I would go to a different dentist I had my root canal 2days ago and the only thing I felt is a little cold pressure when the dentist was inside the tooth but no pain at all
@@daniellebudick9485 ha, yes, probably when you have good dentist and painkillers. But how you know if the dentist is good? I feel like mine just wants me come back for the money
I'm about to get one done soon, and I'm literally just a teenager. Not one of the dentists knew what was going on, but one said that I needed a root canal and so he scheduled the appointment. I'm scared that he's wrong, because I take such good care if my teeth. Had to have braces, but still brushed them good. Did the pain feel hot and cold numb-like in your tooth? I'm just trying to get info before I ruin a possibly perfectly fine tooth...
@Kúnàl M (Savage Indian Boi) hey bro plz help I have infection in my upper tooth and dentist says that root canal will be treatment and I'm scared should I go for it or not please help me 😭😭
My tooth just randomly hurts for no reason then this popped up in my recommendation, idk how it actually feels but watching this makes my tooth hurt even more
You had a bad experience, bad doctor, etc etc. I had one root canal, 28 years ago, still no issues. I mean, with 4 root canals you obviously don't take care of your teeth.
@@seanspreckelsen3496 facts. While OP may have had a reason outside of their control(genes, environmental), So many of them come in after a few years complaining that the procedure didn't work. We examine them, and lo and behold terrible dental hygiene. 😑 like an endo isn't supposed to be a magical fix where you can stop maintaining your teeth(brushing, flossing, less sugary and acidic foods). It's not our fault the patient didn't brush their teeth once for the last two years.
Just had a root canal for the first time yesterday. It was a pleasant experience. The only pain i felt was need to keep opening my mouth for almost 2 and a half hours. My doctor said that the space in my teeth were narrow. So it was not easy to put the needle inside. Then i keep doin the xray during the process. I was so impressed to see how my dentist were so dedicated to give the best treatment for me. But unfortunately, when i made the last xray before finishing the treatment, the needle inside was fractured for about 1mm. And its too deep inside my teeth. But during the treatment i dont feel any pain. So my dentist said, it should be okay since there were lots cases like mine before. And hopefully nothing bad will happen in the future. So i want to ask if anyone here have the same experience as mine. Mind to share? Cause actually im a bit afraid after i heard that needle was fractured.

Im so glad I don't have to do any more major dental work ive had fillings tooth extractions root canals an braces already im done my gums are healthy an haven't had any cavities.
i just had this last week!! i really thought it would be very painful.. my dentist used a local anesthesia and it made me comfortable while the procedure is happening!! 😌with the help of my dentist and kriss ai's after care tips, I have no issue after the treatment 🥰
@@rienne89 Tried to asked that kriss they mention and it said that the duration of a root canal treatment followed by post and core application typically ranges from 2 to 4 hours across multiple visits, depending on the complexity of the case. Very handy
@@garimakashyap3466 guys, I'm extremely bad with those things. I was scared to death, lol. I did this like 6 months ago. O swear: the hardest part is to keep your mouth open for like 40 minutes! I felt nothing!! Oh also, I'm afraid of needles. But besides of that, it was good!
@@thelaziestbee thanks for telling this! I got it done and keeping your mouth open was the hardest including applying the substances which are extremely sour, my jaw starting aching really hard because of that!
Done this once back in 2000.Even with ample anesthesia it was still excruciatingly painful.Something I do not wish to go through ever again.Rather have my tooth extracted.
Do you ever wonder why Germany which is by far in a way the furthest advanced country in the world for dental work? Why do you think that they banned reconnel's way back in the 60s? They refuse to do him because it is extremely dangerous to do a reckoning sure they love to do him because they charge you 900 maybe $1200. For what canal and all they really care about is the f****** money they don't care how bad bad they they get me your job and how your jaw. In time will. He composed down to nothing and you're totally risking your entire jaw line from almost. Like caving in you don't ever wanna disrupt those nerves? They are there for a reason and when Germany said way long time ago. These are 2 dangerous. To do? There. Maybe you should listen to what they have to say and quit being an idiot and going to your dentist and have a root canals done Yada tell. Your family and tell all your friends if you don't believe me just go. To the internet and find out why germany ban the root canals sixty fucking years ago.
Ranking sickness 1st - delivered@give birth 2nd-root canal treatment🤒🥺... I swear will not do again, its scary, the painful make me mygrain ang nightmare..
Yes you’re right! I spent 1,300 for this root canal + a dental crown. If I know I would spent a lot of money I would have just requested to pull an entire tooth .
Root canals are nearly the same price as an implant. A lot of people seem to have problems with root canals after a few years so it makes you wonder if they're worth it
Yeah if only root canal treatment was so easy. Bent canals, obliterated canals, zero working space, fighting tongue and scared Patients. But what do i know? I've only done endodontics full time for 38 years. Have a great day!!
just had mine finished up today. it took two appointments, the first one was for drilling and cleaning the tooth, then temporarily filled. the second appointment was the cement. minimal pain ^^
Root canal has an apparent 50% success rate. It locks the abscess inside your jawbone which then roots your bone away from inside out. But what do you expect we still use toxic mercury in fillings from the 1800s.
Success rate is about 80%, depending on the status of the tooth to begin with. Antibacterial agents are used to clean the canals. The source of the infection is the dead/dying nerve. Once this is removed the body can work at the residual jaw infection :)
I wish some scientist invent drugs that can completely kill the nerves on our teeth. I don't mind having fractured, rotten, or damaged teeth. I just don't want to feel the PAIN!!!
To be fair, that pain is meant to tell you that your jaw is infected and you could die of blood poisoning if it’s not treated. I just get uncomfortable when their rooting around in your mouth with really sharp stuff
I'm 30 years old, when I was 16 my mom took me to the dentist and I was told I needed root canal there and then. Which was no problem because I never had a bad experience (until she started) the dentist "numbed" my mouth when she started to drill I said I can feel it... She continued for 45 more minutes without more injections whilst my "mother" allowed this to happen. A week ago today I went to see a dentist because I haven't been since and I'm in constant pain. Dentist said I needed 12 teeth out 2 root cannals and 7 fillings.. including removing my front teeth and leaving me without any dentures for 6 weeks whilst they make them.. And this is the reason I won't have it done no dentist I've ever found has ever been able to help me the moment I sit down I shake like crazy I've even had sedation and it didn't work. Long and short of it I have to live with pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Before long something will have to give I've even considered taking my own life. Imagine all parts of your mouth shooting in pain literally 24 7 of your life you can't eat and I only drink smoothies for meals. One word of advice please look after your teeth. X
