Root feeding is beneficial to your trees, both in the spring and fall. This video demonstrates root feeding the trees with the ferilizer tablets that are available for root feeders.
This is an update to the fall root feeding video I produced last november. See the link below.

Excellent video. Those trees have some thick foliage. I've fertilized my trees but not deep. I'm starting this year. I do soil samples each year so I am also working on amending my soil.

This is great! You know i put in a diy pipe about 20in down with holes drilled through it to help with tree feeding...turns out i have a terrible tree (Bradford pear) that i need to replace but till that happens im still going to try to feed her. Thats a really neat tool youre using. I think i want one! 🌱🌞👍 thanks for the video!!

The Ross tree root feeder is a great thing to have, I found mine marked down in the Fall as well as the fertilizer tablets for $1.00 a box.

1) Why does this method "feed" the tree (roots) better than simply loading the soil around the base of the tree with fertilizer? Gravity works quite well. Would not a slow-flow watering carry sufficiently the fertilizers downward into the soil? Doing it slowly would defray the liklihood of the chemicals running off laterally, 2) And if we ARE, instead, using the feeder which has a nice length of injector rod, why would we not want to deepen the injection, to deposit further the fertizing agents? Using a garden hose and allowing the water to slowly trickle into the soil is an effective way of watering your trees. I believe in one of my earlier videos in November, 2020 I suggested this as a good method to water the trees as an alternative to using the root feeder. I began using the root feeder to water my trees about 30 years ago after a recommendation from the landscaping company that had installed my trees at the home I lived in at that time. The benefit of the root feeder is that it injects the water into precise locations in the soil where the roots are located, and it gets the water into the soil in a shorter period of time. The reason that I recommend not inserting the rod too deeply into the soil, preferably around 6 to 8 inches deep, is because that depth is where the majority of the roots will be.
