Lieutenant General Deependra Singh Hooda, PVSM, UYSM,AVSM,VSM ,ADC is the former General Officer commanding-in-chief of Indian army's Northern Command. The daring surgical strike of September 2016 was his brainchild and when executed, it went on to mark a significant stroke on the Indo-Pak peace talks.
He served both the Northern as well as the Eastern borders of India.
