Rope Runner Pro Inspection with Krista Strating

For those veteran climbers out there this type of video may not be needed but for those of us who are just getting into the business I really appreciate a company who puts these types of vids out for their products. Nothing worst than a company putting out a product and some paperwork/documentation and saying thanks and have fun. Notch like petzl have gone the other way which to me is a better business approach. I will only buy products from companies who put out informational/instructional videos with their products. Thanks for the thorough video. Kuddos!

Could we also have a discussion about which ropes work well with the rope runner ?

If the spring doesn't catch, there could be an uncontrolled descent when leaning into the system?

I have a rope runner bro brand new and the I converted it to a mrs and the bird wouldn’t catch on the rope. And it doesn’t flip back off the rope .

What about beak part plates start to wear out ? Are those replacement parts going to be on a sale list ??

The "things" you mention at 5:05 are spring-loaded plungers (of a SLIC pin). I checked my manual and they are not named in the nomenclature. If they are part of the inspection, which they are, they have to be referred to properly, not as "things." This is a Notch Equipment video, right?

Funny how this video comes out right after a recall for the device, and then the reason for the recall and the point of inspection that should be emphasized is not even properly demonstrated in the video. Not to mention the fact that a guy i work with has one of these with the faulty spring and notch is refusing to do anything about it. Do better notch...

If I knew how much could go wrong with the thing I would not have bought it. Great video though. I do think they should have made the attachment point thicker. If that breaks you are screwed. There is less than 10mm of material between the hole and the edge which is just sketchy as heck. There should also be a grommet in the main attachment point as they always preach no metal on metal. I suggest buying DMM grommets at Honey Bro's to remedy that but again, it should have come with that for the price. Totally moving away from Notch products for their lack of common sense and over-priced gear.
