I left Shonto back in the 80s. @ the time there were only about 4 or 5 of them Donkeys.. there were Cattles, Horses down that canyon too

Don't know about the burros, but for the wild horses why not turn loose some big ungelded mules. They would become the band stallions, but since they are sterile, no foals.

I admire your horses' athleticism and the trust you have in them (even though there were a couple OS moments, lol)! It was great when you kissed to the yellow horse and we could watch the after-burners come on, haha! Thanks for all the work you do to put these up. :)

From a Navajo Point of View. I really appreciate what you’re doing here, the Navajo Nation is Open-grazing, meaning there are no private pastures or fencing but you’ll notice there’s hardly any grass or any forage. The Navajo Ranching/Farming life has seriously deteriorated over the years with so much of the younger generation choosing to assimilate themselves with the rest of mainstream society rather than continue on with the traditional ways with Livestock and Agriculture. This is why you’ll see so much over-grazed landscapes with abandoned corrals, runned-down cornfields, feral horses, wild donkeys, and neglected dogs all over the Rez. We sure aren’t Indian anymore without our animals. At least you took time to come out and get all those donkeys out, Thank You.

Just watching makes my hands sweat chasing the burros!! So glad they are being caught so grasses will not be over grazed and many of them starve as well as other animals that graze that beautiful harsh country!! Y’all are amazing💕😎

Its amusing to see them actually running. In one of my experiences with Navajo donkeys, he just stood in the middle of the road, honking the horn didn't make him budge nor even me getting out. I had to carefully drive around him on that narrow dirt road.

How do your horses have so much stamina!? My pony (Blue) Is a fat melon and canters for literally two seconds and then has to stop. Also, that is so many donkeys!

Omg you get close to rope the dang donkey and then you don’t rope it That’s why you lost that one donkey in the snow becuase you couldn’t quickly rope it if you would rope early before it moved then you would have prob got more donkeys
