I hope you all enjoyed the video! Rorschach is one of my absolute favorite characters in any movie/tv show ever. I find his character so interesting/badass/compelling. I made a video for him a year ago and I thought it would be fun to revisit his character and see how I could make a better video with my improved editing skills since that time. Personally I think this is some of my best work yet so I hope you like it!

I was shocked when I found out Moore's goals and opinions on Rorshach. It's almost a litmus test for how warped a comic book fans worldview is whether they like or hate Rorshach. Sadly the watchmen reddit page seems flooded with post modern, moral relativistic Rorshach haters.

At the end of the day, justice was all he had. No family because his mum never wanted him and gave him an irrecouncilable hatred of women. No future because of the coming bombs. Not even empathy, because there was no limit to how far a random stranger could fall unrepentingly in depravity. Justice - true Justice, relentless and uncompromising - was the only thing holding the man together. And had Doctor Manhattan not gotten in his way, he would have gladly let the bombs fly so that Ozymandias was brought to justice; after all, "justice is coming for all of us".

It's funny, as a leftist-- Alan Moore made his worst nightmare. Someone who can't morally relativitize everything into being okay. And it turns out, the average human being WANTS things to be good vs evil, with no excuses. Whether we can personally do it or not. We want to believe in an avenging angel, old testament style

The way rorschach phrase those words in the beginning is the way travis bickle felt about those streets.Those streets were just sewers and that's how i feel about this world right now. I wish i could serve up the justice to those who were wronged.

This was an Incredible Masterpiece for My All Time Favorite Character in Watchmen and My Second Favorite Character in DC. Jackie Earl Hayley was Truly Perfectly Casted as Walter Kovacs/Rorschach. He Truly Did this Character Justice Making Rorschach The True Protagonist’s of Watchmen. I’m Hoping he gets a Second Chance at Playing Rorschach again.

YES. I said the same thing to my brother when we watched The Batman. It actually made me so mad lol. Watchmen is so good and did the starting monologue in the best way, The Batman sounded like a cheap clone.

"Never compromise, not even in the face of armageddon" It's a principle that is strangely compelling and the fact Rorschach would even willing die for that principle is even more so. Jackie Earle Haley's performance is absolutely outstanding. Watchmen is one of my favourite films and even now is a stand out superhero film.

wtf. It pisssed me off. For him to compare victims of addiction, or dependents of a substance like opiates to a kiddie diddler .. That’s so dumb. It shows you how sick in the head Rorschach is. He thinks the world is black and white.. that’s the dumbest most extremist bs ever. Human beings are unique. You can’t just lump a huge demographic into the label of “deserving of retribution”. Dude has huge mommy issues just to start with. Sociopathic as fudge. If someone thinks he’s cool then you d the point and the creator literally is proving his point about ignorant people. The aesthetic is awesome due in part to the original artist and then the actor portraying him. But not the mindset; the actual being is horrible and broken beyond belief. Rorschach has the courage of his convictions that the rest of us only wish we had; that we say we do, but don't. We just lie to ourselves and pretend that we would or could do the same as him. The dude is truly hard-core, all the way; No give and no take. He knew 100% that there was no way they would let him live, and he had the courage to face it head on and not shirk away from it. Never compromise, not even in the face of Armageddon. That's aways been the difference.

People in the comments miss the point of Rorschach. They think Alan Moore dislikes the character for his principles and his morals, but he actually dislikes the way fans have failed to see how impossible Rorschach is in our world, and actually admire him despite his worst impulses. He would think the same if anybody idolized the comedian, Adrian, or Dr Manhattan. These characters just don't have the same following Rorschach does.
