This was such a great band! Rory was just The Man. Truly played for the people. Gerry McAvoy is right there with him, too. They were matched so well. Damn I wish Rory was still around.
This guy was so cool. Rest in peace dear Rory. I am a fan from Brazil and I just love the joy he had on his face playing the guitar. I live in a far land and in a poor hood, but your music hit my heart.
Thank You from Brazil, watching a doctor returning to his house in India,we all ( most) come from the poverty and try to stabilize it all our lives, just went from 841. To 560. american money and insurance.Saw a young woman from Brazil playing Johnny Winter incredibly on electric guitar.Saw Gallagher twice 76 and 91. Good to see you in The Rolling Stones The Biggest Bang live in Buenos Aires,Hope you were there! Your friend Old Chris a fiddler of Albuquerque NM
No playback for our boy and the band. Rory on fire again. (What an audience eh?!! - are they real people) Rory chatting, Rory playing _ what a transformation. He gave 110% every time. Sleep well Rory Gallagher.. (Thanks for these gems) 👍✌❤
Theirs only one Rory Gallagher, what a complete merchant, saw him twice in the early days. Gerry an Ted were mental, totally made the whole thing sound brilliant.
I know what you mean! He's just ALIVE and on fire and RIPPING right in front of them, and they're just looking at him like he's a moving slideshow. What the heck! Hahahaha!
"RockPop" had a clear policy only lip sync sets. Rory, the "Check Shirt Wizard" was the only one who ever convinced the producers to do a real life set. Thanks, man.
@@petermill3909 Bernd, "Check Shirt" in Englisch ist das, was wir "(grosskariertes) Holzfällerhemd" nennen. Rory hat das schon getragen, bevor die Berliner Hipster überhaupt auf der Welt waren. Cheers Mate
i grew up not far from rory had my first pint with him in his grandmothers bar on McCurtain street Cork City.i find it shameful that German tv show more Rory music then Irish tv does.i lived in Germany 35 years and his always on telly there,i go home to Cork,he is never on telly, long live the only KING Ireland will ever except.
How can you not feel the soul of Rory Gallagher when you watch him perform? He’s been a part of my musical memories for over 50 years. Can’t ever forget him, nor would I want to. ❤
I think Rory Addict meant the bass also.. he said drums and guitarS.. that s on the end of guitar means more than 1.. lead guitar AND Bass guitar. This text is directed to Burnside. I love 💕 you sweet Rory Angel. XO
@@judithriggs4578 You know what, you're right - my eyes must have gone dyslexic, I could have sworn I read 'guitar and drums' - my apologies, RoryAddict!
Great stuff. I saw him perform in a small club in Wash DC, 1972. If he'd asked me, I would have recommended a Hammond B-3 organist for his combo - then he wouldn't feel obliged to fill all the spaces. He's a guitarists' guitarist.
Best guitarist ever , he just loved playing with such emotion, red hot band And the audience really jumping around and rocking the place , are they alive ?
Shadow play singing, a half pint, house gone to side, this shadow plays, music of life, energy, times are a changing, shadows are jackal and Hydie, pain shadow plain, moving on with the flow, passion. God bless Rory the man in Cork, Ireland
It's so totally KOOL that we can watch these shows today .... some German TV variety show from the '70's that nobody in the states would ever be to see back then.
The reaction of the audience reminded me so much of the Johnny B.Good scene in Back to the Future - "I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it.”
The Best real, thanks 👍😊 oorah always remember history heritage facts truth and Rory Gallagher was is the best really, in Jesus Christ name Amen and Amen respect.
As a teenager, young adult I listened to a lot of Rory but never saw videos. He is a top notch guitarist, entertainer, singer…. well all around great guy. It’s a joy to cast back memories of this humble man.
i seen Rory with Gerry and Ted in 78 and in 82 same line up ..somewhere in between..i m guessing 79 for this show ...shinkicker and Shadow play were on Photofinish out in 78
Rory and band playing thier hearts out , whats wrong with the audience ?? they seem unmoved by that great sound and musicianship ,I saw them live and it was impossible to keep still ,Rory exudes such joy when he plays it's infectious .
Can't understand why I hadn't heard of Rory until recently? All my guitar heroes through the late 60's name him at the very top of the list of influences, and hearing him now that seem ridiculously obvious. He did it all and he did it first.
I met him twice ónce when I was 9 and 13 I was with my brother living in Germany and my brother worked for stramp amps and he ran two full stacks up the rory and the band we me tagging along and I held the famous 61 strat.
Man, what a bunch of studio stiffs. Close enough to touch him and they sit there like frogs on a lilly pad, an arm's length away from greatness. And Rory, not your typical TV show, panned overdub performance where the amps aren't even plugged in, but full blast, in-your-face wizardry thunder-n-lightning show! How can you not love this guy? When I saw him at Park West in the early 80s I was hanging over the rail trying to get as close as humanly possible. I know greatness when I see it and hear it!
@@emmetnolan7081 Hallo Emmet, ich würde so gerne zum Festival kommen. Habe recherchiert. Man findet niergendwo mehr eine Unterkunft. Ich warte auf ein Wunder !!! Alles Gute mir Rory´s Musik. I love it !!!
I love the comment he was just as good as Clapton n Hendrix r u serious you can't b serious but u r cause u said it .after seeing Clapton page angus .etc etc live n seeing RORY live .they are apprentices to RORY cause they learnt of him the master .RORY'S music n memories will always live on .R I P.
look at him laughing! look at him having fun! I'm mad... he deserved so much more notoriety, but I'm happy he was happy while playing with all his passion and talent! That damn audience though...
Rory was 100% no bullshit, which is more than i can say about you children comparing him to clapton and hendrix, nobody is better they're just different and thats it! None of them could do what the other did
Music is subjective...it's all about ones PERSONAL taste. There isn't really a "better" or "best"....its all about what gets YOU off! Can you tell that I think Rory was DEFINITELY one (of MANY) of the "best"? He certainly ttrips MY trigger! He was maybe one of the most UNDERRATED guitarists ...EVER!!😊 (A famous story says that when Hendrix was asked "how does it feel to be the best guitarist in the world?"....he answered "I don't know...go ask Rory Gallagher!")😁👍
