I think it's a matter of quantity vs. quality. Give the audience too much of one thing and they'll get tired of that shit which in the case of this show turned into a toxic mess (Rory's relationship with Dean & Logan). Give the audience just the right amount of something and they'll keep on wanting more because it continues to hold their interest (Rory and Jess). I recently saw a video on youtube where Scott Patterson (Luke Danes) said that the writers of the show (Amy & Dan) like to make very large things small and small things very large because it keeps everyone intrigued in the storytelling. For example, which of these scenes in the revival left you wanting more? A 10 minute Life and Death Brigade scene? Or a 10 second scene of Jess looking longingly at Rory through the window? I think we all know the answer to that question.

I actually think it's the opposite considering the circumstances. The show was emphasizing that Rory ran to Jess when she was lonely and broken apart, similar to Lorelei and Christopher. She always cheated WITH Jess, like Lorelei and Christopher. Logan might not be Luke-like, but the show compared them together many times it was clear, especially when both Logan and Luke were there for the girls then. As much as I don’t prefer Logan or Jess, that’s just how it was.

@@yummyyumms945 so you're telling me that Jess knocked up Rory and is gonna be an absent father meanwhile Logan is gonna be a supportive friend and a father figure to her child? That makes no sense at all. ASP explicitly said that Logan is Rory's Christopher. However, Jess especially as an adult is potrayed as Luke not only because they are related but also he's that supportive friend who is there when you need him.

@@akeelkondiah40 Of course the exact same story is not going to reappear in Rory's life. That would be lazy for the writers. Initially, in the first series, it was portrayed in that way. Which made the Year in the Life series even more stupid and unexpected. In season 6 and 7, they were trying to compare Luke and Logan. For what? We don't know that. At least Lorelai and Luke were eventually on the same level, Rory doesn't deserve Jess. The year in the life series, however, indicates that eventually Jess would become her Luke somehow. Yet, it would go against a lot of what they wrote before, and it's a cheap way to continue the story. I'm not saying she should end up with either of them, her life is not going to be the same as Lorelai's (obviously). She doesn't really deserve that type of life. So Logan is similar to both Luke and Christopher, and Jess is similar to Luke and Christopher, but the stories are completely different; therefore meaning that Jess and Rory is just a cheap way to rid the storyline they spent so long setting up. It was just my view on the show, you don't have to be so territorial.

With that said, I think Jess was the guy being built up to inevitably end up with Rory given the fact that he was never given a second chance like Dean and Logan were and was the only guy Rory never slept with. Also, he was the only one that remained single ever since he and Rory broke up while Dean moved on and got what he wanted (a housewife) and Logan moved on and got what he wanted (a trophy wife). Jess however still longs for Rory and Rory alone which to me is very admirable given how good looking of a guy he is and can easily find someone else but chooses not to.

Yeah if they had more time but I don’t think she could ever fully trust him again after he literally left her like 4x and he had terrible communication skills on top of that and though he will always love her that way she doesn’t think of him like that she thinks of him as an old friend always and tbh they were better as friends than together even though Jess was the first person that really gave her a thrill IMO it will always be logan because the entire time it wasn’t awkward, they were so natural with each other. He fit her more.

@@valeriecho1382 Did you see the revival? Rory and Logan will never work out pass college similarly to how Rory and Dean will never work out pass high school because both those couples gave it another go post college and high school and not only did it fail but it also resulted in Rory being the other woman in both those cases. Jess is the right fit for Rory as an adult moving forward and seeing how the main reason why Lorelai knew that Luke was the right one in the end was because of how much he cared for Rory, I guarantee you if Rory sees how much Jess cares for her child, she'll realize he's the right one in the end as well.
