Everyone wanted to be Rory but I wanted to be Paris. Her energy, wit, and dedication is what kept her from turing out like Rory. Boys came last over academics for her and no matter how hard Rory tried, Boys became more important.
Nah the idea of Paris is nice if you want to end up lonely and constantly anxious about nothing. No one can be that serious and not suffer from anxiety (I know cz I used to be that way, until I completely reprogrammed my mind to take it easy and go blank for once). So yeah, that kinda personality will turn you into a headcase
Madelaine's sweeter (she's the one who thought of Dean when they were talking about cute boyfriends) and Louise likes drama (she's the one who wouldn't STOP talking about Dean when Paris wanted to study)
Who watches this scene and thinks "Paris was this feminist icon, who didn't care about boys and make up and all of that shit that the patriarchal society said to girls they should like. Instead, she cared about grades, academics and education, she was after a carrear and having a professional life over a romantic one. She was an inspiration because of that..." I'm sorry. You're probably not reading this rightly. Paris cared. At least as much as Madeleine and Louise. Maybe more. But she prefered to hide her wanting that because she thought she couldn't get it. So,she threw herself into the books. I'm not saying she didn't like studying and that she didn't want an academic's life but the way she talked about boys and stuff, and how annoyed she was when everyone would talk about it...she cared A LOT. Otherwise she wouldn't be annoyed, she would just ignore it. She is just like Hermione from HP. A big part of them goes hard on books and all of that because they're shy and they're shy because they're insecure, they're think no one will want them. And not only romantic speaking, but friendship related and all social relationship in fact. And that shows a person who asks a LOT of themselves, they are too hard on themselves and that's why they go to academics more than anything, because academics is something that allows you to push yourself to your limits, to think too much. Relationships doesn't. Paris in fact let this layer of her personality appears sometimes. When she gets nervous to dates, when she liked Tristan, and everytime she and Rory would talk about the subject. Those moments she really opened her heart and let her true fears come out. And the reason why she could talk about that with Rory and not with anybody else was because Rory was a little like that too, not much because Lolerai raised her...but enough so she could understand Paris and help her.
I never understood why they didn't invite dean. I get it's a show and there needed to be drama and a bonding for rory and Paris but that would have been more logical and fun for rory. None of the drama and just a fun time.
@@lauriecarson6483 yeah but she originally wanted lane which I would pick my BFF over my boyfriend for a girls weekend for sure. It's healthy to do separate things and then together as a couple but when Lanes mom said no that's when I would have picked my boyfriend over a bunch of girls who just make my life miserable who ended up causing trouble and wasted two perfect seats that lorelai and Sookie could have used instead of sitting miles away from the show.
I loved Louise she had that clever sharp wit. I might be reading into her too much but her character seemed to know and accept that she would have an old money match made for her and until that time she was going to party and learn only the things that interested her. Compared to Paris the show tried to play her off as a typical blonde but for me she wasn't a ditz she was bored and bothered by things she felt wastes her time I really wish they did more with Louise
So Paris said, "Not at my house, there won't be any furniture to sit on". Then her friend said, "My mom is having an affair". Then her other friend said, "My brother has the measles". And Rory actually had a legit excuse and still got stuck with having to invite them to her house, for the school project. They could have gone to the library.
Yooo I get Paris so bad!!! I've had such experiences ngl. If you're here to prepare for the debate, Prepare for the debate! Here to study, STUDY. So I understand Paris!! Cuz I get annoyed too when people do other random shit than what was actually planned.
I hope you know it's a school project and the teacher out them in a group. So please tell me how is that helping out Rory when Madeline and Louise was there too.
I wondered why both Rory and her mom have the same name. I was thinking the first why they have the same name but then I scan they both have the name Lorelai and I was wondering why her mom chose to give her the same name she does.
@@emmierivera In season one she also says its because she was hopped up on hospital pain meds and when it came time to name her the only thing she could think of was her name lol
There is a scene in this one where Lorelei and Sookie are talking about Rachel, Lukes ex gf. Lorelei says how come i did not know about her and Sookie says it was 5-6 years ago you had an 11 year old and you were just moving into this house.. If that was the case how could Rory and Lane have been friends since they were 5. It says in an other episode they had been friends since kindergarten. Well how could they have been if they just moved into that home when she was 11. And in the very first episode of season 1 or maybe it was the pilot not sure, but Lorelei and Rory had gone into Luke's for coffee and it was like they did know each other yet.. And Rory was a teenager. Did the writers not keep track of all that.. What was said or done. Hate that when they do that.
