Rory is my psychotherapist. I had a dog that looked similar to him. He wasn't doing tricks. He wasn't that funny, but he was faithful and loved. He died in 2019. He was 16 years old. When I saw a similar dog on the street, I started to cry. It was like that until I saw the movies with Rory. Now, after a hard day, I sometimes watch Rory and laugh. It reminds me of my Pinio, but I don't cry anymore.
Thank you so much for your comment. It really moved me. ❤️ Loosing a special companion is always heartbreaking. I’m glad that Rory can help you in his own way. He loves to make people happy. ❤️
Great job! Your dog and you seem so happy to train together! And the editing of the video makes it very original! Love your channel! Continue ! And, by the way, my dog Bimka and Rory look alike!
Thank you! Yes, Bimka has really similar markings. Love your video, he’s so focussed on you and especially impressed by the backstall! Something I’d like to work on more with Rory.
@@quirkyrory oh thank you for taking a glance at my videos 😊 yes I am quite proud of the backstall trick, it was not the easiest to teach but once he understood what he has to do it got better. Your videos inspire me for new ideas of tricks !
Oh My! That is a very clever and cute Border Collie! I have a liver and white border collie named Rory! With two colored eyes. he is gorgeous, but not so clever and cooperative!
this is incredible! I would love to have a Collie one day, but I'm afraid that I might not be prepared to train and educate a dog. is there any online training or books that you would recommend? for the most basic training. thank you for sharing this video with Rory.
It really is great that you are giving a lot of thought to preparing for getting a dog. All dogs - especially collies - need not only exercise but also mental stimulation (trick training is great for that). I would highly recommend you follow Susan Garrett. Her Recallers and Home school the dog programmes are great and she also has a RU-vid channel with free podcasts on various topics. ru-vid.com
HA!!! OMG, love when he goes in the suitcase! How ever did you teach that trick?? He is so cute when he is all the way in there and part of his fur is sticking out. Excellent job!!!
He loves his suitcase 😀 He learned to go in a box first, then it was easy to transition into an open suitcase (me holding the lid open) from there, with him lying down inside. Then I started to gradually lower the lid until eventually he needed to nudge it up a bit to be able to go in.
@@quirkyrory Thanks so much for your reply. You two are remarkable. I love the way you two have a blast together. Thank you for the videos. Absolutely love the suitcase, the nesting, and kidnapping. Oh, and let's not forget the kidnapping bloopers... So hilarious and fun. Lots of love and joy to the both of you.
It takes lots of practice. Make sure all your training sessions are short and fun for your dog and always end on a positive note. (if necessary ask for a really easy task, so your dog definitely succeeds when you finish your training). If you're on facebook, you'd be very welcome to join Rory's trick group for trick inspirations (it's free). facebook.com/groups/quirkyrory
