It is a rare thing for one persons voice to reach into the soul of so many people around the world. I think that there is some kind of connection that she has. And this is what I think she always wanted as a singer,... to just interpret the music maybe without all of the hype and huge performances. On stage with Blackpink she is a wild animal,..boy! what a dancer she is. But when she turns on her camera like in an airport waiting room and sings and broadcasts it,.. I think that is really what she is all about. Stripped down, just her voice and music. Her talent is STUNNING!!!
In "If I Aint Got You", that was just more like an encore. Like someone requested it and yes, they're not that prepared that's why Rosie is reading the lyrics. The other girl is Suhyun from AKMU same company with Rosie which is YG and the other guy is Onew from SM. Check out their duet with Rosie entitled "Lucky"
The other girl singing is Su-Hyun, one half of the brother-sister duo AKMU. She has a world class voice. Their contract with YG gives them total control over their music, so their songs and M/V's are unique. You might like "How can I love the heartbreak", "The Happening" to name a few.
I was a big John Mayer fan when I was younger and yes I also think not a lot of people know SDIABR among his songs which made me appreciate Rosé’s music taste even more. 💓
The other girl singing is SU-HYUN, she and her brother are duos and their group name is AKMU , her and Rosé are in the same label (YG ENTERTAINMENT)... She's a very talented girl, an amazing one...

I fell in love with her voice and person the first time I listened to their songs and I know all of them are so talented but there's something about her I don't know what it is but she makes me feel good🥰

Your feelings when getting to know Rosie are completely normal because it's almost like you get to really see her and know her the best when she's singing and playing guitar. Especially at the start of their journey, when she was kinda the shy one, it wasn't as easy to get to know her as the other members. Rather than Sea of Hope, I much prefer to recommend her earlier covers, like Eyes Closed, If It Is You and Read My Mind.
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room is one of my favourite songs! I went through a huge phase with listening to that song on repeat. So nice to hear it again and so well!
as for the song "If I aint got you", you initial reaction is spot on. I watched the full series, Sea Of Hope, and saw for a fact, Rose' was not prepared to sing this song, It was Su-Hyun choice and asked if Rose' knew it, she kind of half heartedly said, kind of, and started to look for the lyrics on her phone. You heard Rose' half giggle when the clip started and she reacted to this encounter. This isn't the type of song Rose usually sings. This whole series, they did a pre-show warm up in the studio, and also some practice vocals when Rose' showed up to the cabins where they relaxed and prepped there food. but most of the night, they were servers, waitress taking orders and delivering food and drinks to the small venue. and periodically, they would go up on the make shift stage and sing a few songs for the guest. improve style, Rose' was not prepared to perform for many of those songs when she got up on stage, but still sang beautifully every time. Su-Hyun is from AKMU, along with her brother. She was 14 yr old when they won Kpop star 2 contest and signed with YG and debute 2014. in 2020 she has since gone on a solo act, with other singers, "Begin Again" (Search on RU-vid) which they sing Busker style in 9 European cities, she isn't the best singer on this trip, two other females with power voices take front stage while she gives great backing vocals mostly. and Onew, from the group Shinee, I do not know much about him, but his voice is silky, he and Rose sing another song duo, "Lucky" by Jason Mrazz.
"Lucky" is my fave of the Sea of Hope covers, and you should definitely check it out. The show involved a group of celebrities running a seaside club to counter the stress of the pandemic for a bunch of people. I believe that the spectators in the SDIABR video are all K-drama actors. As I recall, John Mayer and Brandon Flowers (The Killers) both reached out to Rosie to say how much they liked her covers.
Rosie is my ultimate bias in kpop and if someone asks why I would for sure show them some of these songs. Someone already mentioned, but John Mayer gave her a pink guitar after she covered SDIABR. Pretty cool! Would love to see more Rosie reactions. I'd def recommend her Eyes Closed cover.

If i aint got you was an encore from the 3 singers. The crowd wanted more so they gave it a chance. The three of them didnt practice beforehand but they did amazing!
OMG it's exactly my journey of emotions, Rose was the slow burn that etches your heart. All the girls are stunningly beautiful, Lisa and Rose have an inner quality that is healing to our planet. Then Rose's voice is how you imagine angels would sound at their best, there's a way she plays with intonations that is entirely Rose, no one else does it, it's pure Rose like when she sings "why we try" in The Happiest Girl.

Haters had always said that it’s such a simple song and had sometimes used that against Rosé. Little do they know how difficult it is to sing. It may not have the highest notes and belts and vocal gymnastics that some people expect vocalists to do to be considered good. But the technique needed to execute it is not easy. Sea of Hope is what is usually called in Korea as “healing shows”. The concept is that the cast runs a seaside bar (cooking, serving, and singing to the guests) and also do environmental cleanup of that beach and sea (they are partnered with WWF). The cast is a mix of the best and most famous actors and singers and idols in Korea. Rosé was their first guest and as a guest, she worked as a part-timer in the bar (she took orders and served guests too). The girl that has that beautiful voice is Suh-yun, half of the sibling duo AKMU (a labelmate of Blackpink under YG). She is considered as one of the best vocalists in Korea. The guy is Onew, leader of the 2nd-gen kpop boy group SHINee, and is also considered one of the best male vocalists and he also has his own solo career (though SHINee is still active). I suggest you also listen to the rest of her covers in Sea of Hope. In one, she played the keyboards too. 🖤💗

For me it was the other way around, I am sucker for melodic pop songs, so the thing that draw me to Blackpink at first was Rosie's voice and her enunciation. The way she sings the melodies is so addicting to me.
She’s lee suhyun from a duo AKMU, they’re under YG too and they’re amazing. AKMU is a duo of two siblings, lee chanhyuk is her brother and they write and produce their own songs. Another guy here is Onew, he’s the leader of Shinee from SM and he has amazing voice(idk mich about him though😅)

Kpop (2008-2015 roughly) Blackpink is 3rd Gen.(2015-current) 4th Gen is any debuting last couple years (its because in kpop the standard contract signings are for 7 years and groups tend to break up or don't renew after that, thus the 7 year curse of kpop)
