The Spanish pianist Rosa Sabater (1929-1983) was a pupil of Frank Marshall (1883-1959), an influential Catalan pianist and pedagogue of English heritage and a close associate of Granados. He also taught Alicia de Larrocha.
Sabater died tragically because of an airplane crash near Madrid in 1983.

Great performance! The drama and tension of this great work most eloquently expressed. Truly tragic, her life and career cut short by the plane crash. This video is a reminder of what we lost.
