This is a poem of San Juan de la Cruz a philosopher, poet and friar who is considered a saint. It talks about God being that ethernal fountain. Her adaptation of this poem is magnificient
It doesn't matter how many times I listen some of her songs (like this one or the fucking money man) my soul is squeezed and take out... The emotions this girl transmits is out of this world.
She’s a god among men, she is such a powerful performer. I think we see people like this once every 50 years or so, she is really changing the game and I love her for it!
I really love this reaction, the fact that it hit so hard that you had to protect yourself, a trully good reaction to an incredible song, one of the best reactions to this song, much love and Saludos from Spain!
This song is based on a poem that was written by San Juan de la Cruz, while in jail. He talks about God and death. A beautiful poem, for sure, but not by Rosalía. She did an acapella version of this song. It's just her and her voice inside the chapel she walks into at the end of this video. Just got chills by thinking about it lol
Hi!, I'm spanish, and i can tell you, Flamenco is very emotional, it makes you cry, laugh, if you hear more flamenco singers like Rosario Flores you will notice!
I'm loving Rosalía as much as you do, far away up in Sweden, where I live!! Please react to "De Plata live in Sevilla", it is so emotional and stunning.
This was filmed in her home town of Sant Esteve Sesrovires on the edge of Barcelona’s industrial/ commuter belt. As mentioned below lyrics are by San Juan de la Cruz when he was imprisoned for trying to reform an Order of the church. I’m assuming he is writing about the eternal fountain of light when one’s soul is in darkness.
I'm so glad you reacted to this one! Loved that reaction, so funny to watch you get those goosebumps when she goes on a higher note towards the end, and girl, we ALL feel it so you're not the only one holding your breath. She also humbles me, for sure. Cheers!
This is the second part of the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XLPlfMznY5k.html . It shows what happens inside that door you can see behind the final credits. And it's Rosalía singing a cappella!
Hi Grace. Love your reactions, and the way that your quick with your assumptions! Love your videos (I stan Rosalía). (sorry about my english) So, some people already said that this is a poem written by Saint Juan de La Cruz while he was incarcerated around 1577. This is Rosalía's interpretation of the original one by Enrique Morente (the song). The lyrics of the song have a deep meaning of love and faith even when you can´t see or feel light anywhere. It talks about the darkness that is natural in the world and the light that will always exist even when we are not here. The title translates "Altought it's night (time)". There's an entity in the song from wich everything comes and to wich everything goes but that has no beginning and no end, wich can be interpreted has God, or Nature or the Universe, but for sure something marvelous. The poem in itself has a religious nature. So looking at the visuals of the video I see things like this: we start from the inside of the car that is full of religious imagery; We don't see her, we cannot even see the way properly but we can hear her voice clearly. We drive at night through a rural spanish village, we can see a white horse, before we stop and face Rosalía. She was singing while she was waiting. She never stops singing. Our strong lights point at her and we get out of the car. She can see us, she stares and sings to us. She is sitting but restless. Eventually she gets up and shows what we cannot see by ourselves(the beautiful white visuals around her). She shows us that she's protected, that she has faith, better than that, she is not blinded by faith. When she finishes the song, wich was an explanation to why someone should never fear, altough it's night time, she walks in the cemetery, our final material home, without fear. I have more toughts about the song and the things that she wants to say, but it would be a loooooooong comment. Thnak you so much. Keep up the good videos :)
Actually this song is a very old poem, that was made into a song by Morente a flamenco singer, she did her version. Her first album "Los Ángeles " kind of a cover album with remastered old songs
Glad you loved this song and music video as much as I do! The visuals and the aesthetic are so beautiful, in my opinion it's one of the best songs Rosalía has done🖤
The lyrics are part of a poetry style called mystic poems. It’s all about discovering god and faith. That’s what the fountain means, that all life comes from god. And so on.
I think you were getting emotional ...is because Rosalia has the magic touch to make you feel so many things , even if you don't fully understand the lyrics
This music video actually has a separate part where she sings accapella inside of the chapel u saw in the music video. Its on youtube if youre interested
You should react to “Rosalia EMA 2018 Malamente” (this one is difficult to find it because it was deleted on RU-vid) Rosalía Latín Grammys 2020” and Rosalia VMAS
Girl you're already a "flamenca" and you don't know yet. You feel flamenco music hope you listen other flamenco artist like Camarón. Sorry for my English :)
