The Carters' grandson Chip shared memories of what made his mother more than a political giant but an example for humankind to follow.
A second day of observances honored Rosalynn Carter on Tuesday culminating in a tribute service at Emory University.
Family and dignitaries alike paid their respects to the former first lady and trailblazing mental health and caregiver advocate. Former President Jimmy Carter, along with other presidents, all living first ladies, and national and local officials and dignitaries were present at Tuesday's service.

How wonderful it is to have a deeply religious Family as our President and First Lady. It proves they believe there is a power much higher than themselves. I miss that

That was such a beautiful service. Mrs Carter was a classy and very genuine lady. Fighting back the tears and hoping that we will have another first lady like her. I can't imagine her playing donkey ball...that was so cute. ❤ RIP Mrs Carter.

i am crying.. but for my own mortality , seeing jimmy here on his death bed at nearly 100 years old, ...the first time i seen jimmy , i was 19 and in the army in training in Georgia, i watched jimmy on tv in the day room accepting his win as governor ..then by the time i was discharged, i was voting for him as president .. 52 years later, my days are too numbered...so that makes me sad...
