Watch host Kristin Baver (StarWars.com, This Week! In Star Wars) interview Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla) at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023.
Dude, Ewan's family is conquering the world of Star Wars. Hera - played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. His wife since last year. Wedge Antilles - played by Denis Lawson. His uncle. The drug dealer in the Kenobi Series when he went to rescue Leia - played by Esther. His daughter. And Obi-Wan - well, that’s him. Not that I’m complaining though, they are bunch of good actors lol.
She may get it, she may be a good actress, but she does not feel like Ahsoka, just an actress playing a role It will never be like the person who gave life to the character Which is why Thrawn's actor will nail it, Bo-katan has nailed it too, etc. But that's all we will get and I'm sure it will be great Just my opinion, but not hating on her or anything
@@Dave-mf6tj Ashley gave life to Ahsoka through her voice and deserves all the props and credit for doing so, but she could not embody Ahsoka the way Rosario does. From the minute she appeared on screen in The Mandalorian--she was Ahsoka. Rosario nails it to the nth degree. *Perfect* casting.
Natasha REALLY looks like Sabine. Her figure, the shape of her face, her eyes....aside from the beauty mark she is like straight from the animator's pens. I can't wait for this series. Ahsoka is my favorite Star Wars character and Sabine has my heart....I really want Sabine to get a happy ending
I was saying that immediately when they announced that cast, I was really happy with that decision, she really looks like Sabine, she had those correct movements and she is also beautiful. I saw movie Day Shift (she plays a good vampire there) in pretty much the same time when they announced that she will be Sabine and I immediately knew it's casting of the year, they couldn't find better actress for Sabine. 😀 I was sad from that some people were complaining about that cast, I saw even some really terrible comments about here slightly asian eyes, such comments are really terrible, Sabine looked like that even in Rebels, people can be really idiots.
Big Mary Elizabeth fan, love her performances in everything she is in. Excited to see her in this series. Rosario is a gem and perfect casting, thank you bosslogic. I am also excited to see Natasha as well.
Interesting fact for Mary Elizabeth is that she married another iconic Star Wars' actor, Ewan McGregor aka Obi Wan Kenobi. They are together since 2017 and gotten married last year.
I really wish they would have given a shout out to the voice cast of rebels. They brought these characters to life and are the reason everyone fell in love with them. Everyone's excitement for the live action show is based on years and years of hard work by Dave filoni the animators and the voice actors that built the foundation for this to even be possible.
I saw this, thought back over all of the interviews and it came to my mind: What an assembly of fantastic women in the Star Wars franchise. It is really great to see women in strong roles in this shows.
I'm probably in the minority here, but Rebels might be my favorite Stars Wars content... ever. I love the casting of these people for some of my favorite characters; they totally get it, and they appreciate the shoes they are stepping into. I cannot wait to see this show!!
People say the prequels tried to explain the force with science, and wasn’t as mystical, which is symbolism of the jedi losing their way, but a few arcs in clone wars and especially rebels added the mystique to star wars again, which many people don’t give enough credit to rebels for. But then when people get it, they conplain about the world between worlds, cause they can’t explain it, and they think it’s time travel… you can never poease everyone, always people conplaining, which is fine, but not from a place of subjetive feelings, objective critisism is fine.
The only people that didn't love rebels & count it in their top3 are the ones who didn't watch it, didn't pay attention to it, or prejudiced it because it's "a cartoon" and are in denial. Easily the best all-around SW content since RoTJ
I think we've got a consensus in the fandom at least for one thing in these past few years, and it's the casting of this series. Between Lars as Thrawn, Rosario as Ahsoka, Natasha as Sabine, Mary Elizabeth as Hera, Eman as Ezra... Everyone seems happy with it and the actors definitely deserve it. I'm sure they'll protray their respective characters incredibly well !
I think it's funny they choked when Rosario brought up "light saber" training with Natasha, like they were spoiling something. I guess they forgot that Sabine had light saber training from Kanan Jarrus while Sabine had the Dark Saber. lol. I'm happy to see Mary Elizabeth Windstead join Star Wars, loved her since Sky High, and don't know Natasha Liu Bordizzo but looks like she's done some action movies before so I think they did great casting for some now iconic characters, looking forward to getting this Ahsoka series!
I don't think they forgot the training from Kanan. Natasha has said she's watched that very episode a number of times. And she does have a good amount of action experience, including martial arts and sword training IIRC. Also, Sabine has Ezra's lightsaber at the end of Rebels.
Loved the interview and wisdom from Rosario Dawson her expertise and prose n composure to embody Ahsoka as a leader that is true believer n a steadfast force for good in the Universe and the relationship the actor and character have built resonates. A perfect match of actors and characters to be these characters the warmth n family feel that the actors have talked abut that the production set was a great environment for their acting growth and the series. Cant wait for the summer sci-fi series of Ahsoka on Disney+ this August 2023. Lets go! #StarWars #Ahsoka.
I'm not that familiar with Rebels or Clone Wars, but the minute I saw Rosario/Ahsoka in Mando, I knew I had to watch them all. She's amazing, I love her, and she's the perfect Ahsoka. The rest of the cast looks awesome too. Hopefully I'll catch up before August. Congrats to the whole team for making great shows worth watching in a Verse we love.
Hey man! Catching up along with you as well! Gahd I can't believe I skipped this series. But one season in, you get that feeling that from Mandalorian onwards, they're really rewarding the people who took time to dive into this other stories. ❤
The way Natasha describes Sabine in interviews really intrigues me. Sounds like Sabine will be in a dark place in the series. Also I’m wondering if there was a falling out between Sabine and Hera.
If there was a falling out between Rebels and Ahsoka, it probably would be because Sabine chose to stay on Lothal instead of assisting the Rebel Alliance.
When I first heard Mary might be playing Hera. I was confused because I thought she was too young. Then I learned she was only like 24 in Rebels season.1. She seemed older because of that maternal nature.
Definitely my most anticipated Star Wars project! Ahsoka is a top tier Star Wars character, and so excited to Hera and especially Sabine in live action!
Good thing is they got amazing actresses to play em. I mean Rosario and Mary, the experience they have, the talent, what more could one ask for?? Personally its a dream come true cuz i was huge fans of them both already and to see them play such great characters. Natasha hasn’t been in the business long but shes fits her character perfectly too. Just have to hope the show built around them will utilise their talents and not waste them
Great to see Natasha Liu Bordizzo going places. She made an impression even with just her small roles in 'Guns Akimbo' and the brilliant 'Hotel Mumbai'.
Rosario is amazing. Doing research with rebels and clone wars is amazing. In this moment 5 episodes in the series she have the manners of Ashoka from the animated series and so on. Love Rosario.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! As A Huge Fan Of Rebels and Clone Wars, This Show is Everything I wanted!!!!!! Also Literally Perfect Casting!!! Mary Elizebeth Winstead looks like She is going to be Great as Hera, Natasha looks like She literally IS Sabine, And as always Rosario is Perfect Ahsoka! I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! Thank You Dave Filoni!!!!!!
What a amazing casting choices! Rosario Dawson is obsviously a slam dunk. Mary Winstead is phenomenal and Natasha Liu Bordizzo also looks great in the trailers!
Chill's, is what I got from watching this. I believe Ahsoka is going to be really good, just thinking about the ghost crew on live action is so freaking amazing. I just can't wait for the show.
They are so fine & more importantly epitome of what a great female character is. Great backstory, powerful in their own ways or abilities, and dope designs
What is going on with Rosario and Natasha Liu Bordizzo?! Every interview I’ve seen with them together Rosario is gazing at Natasha like she’s a plate of mashed potatoes and she hasn’t eaten in a year!
I can not say enough about the new Ashoka. Rosario is an amazing actress! Simply amazing. The new trailer is awesome! Can’t wait to see it. Bravo. Ma’am..
Just saw EP 1 "Master and Apprentice" and It was so sad Sabine got hurt in the end. What a way to end an EP and keep you in your seat! These 3 ladies are so wonderfully amazing.
IMO - the most beautiful panel ever! MEW as Hera is gonna keep me awake at night until the premiere, although, it'll have to compete with Rosie's (Becks) ever presence in my dreams.
The Host or even Mary didn't mention that she's been a part of the Star Wars Universe, through her hubby, aka Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). I think it's the first couple to work within a Franchise.
I do hope the series gets a second season. I really love the chemistry and the overall direction of the show. It is not perfect by any means but definitely gives me that enjoyment that I had when I watched mandalorian season 1 and 2. Was very disappointed with mando s4 so this was a good change haha. Really sad to hear about Ray Stevenson just now especially since Baylor, Shin and Sabine are my favorite character arcs within this tv series so far. Hope he is enjoying watching people appreciate his portrayal of Baylor up there in the heavens.
First, super excited about a show that includes Ahsoka. Such an icon and inspiration in so many ways to so many people. Second, SABINE. As a lowercase "a" artist myself, I adore her character and appreciate so much a chance to get to see more of her. And, seconding everyone mentioning the great casting all around.
