I'm sorry this happened to your roses. My Mom lost her beautiful David Austin roses quite a few years ago to rose rosette. They were on opposite sides of the house, but they both got it. She's never replanted, but dreams about it someday. We are further north from you, but not quite DFW.
waco. 3 years ago my deja blue and alfred carriere got hit. also a white hybrid tea. couldn't get the massive root up for the white. it got chemicals. this year it grew a red rose. the dr huey i think. waiting to see.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I too have roses with this dreaded disease. I started the process last evening of removing several Knock Out roses from our landscaping. Breaks my heart. I shared your video with a group of my neighbor women. Many have discovered their roses also have RRD. 😢 Do you have suggestions for replacement plants? I live in Williamson County so I’m not far from you. Thanks again.
I was starting to panic before I got to the end of the video because I do see dark burgundy leaves, but then you said don’t panic lol. I don’t see the witch broom thorns at all
Rose Rosette oh my! I am new to roses. My husband for Mother’s Day ordered me 5 beautiful Peggy Martin Roses now on their third year growing heathy and strong! So scary…Thamk you for info what to look out for and how t handle it if you get it😩
@@therockyhillgardener I know a lot of rose gardeners are waiting for that. But as I know now that my 2 rose bushes in the front of my house, are infected with the disease, I have cat them down and will dig them up tomorrow. I will have to plant something different there in the future. Thank you again Belle
I am so sorry. I have about 6 mini knockout roses in a row close together, almost like a hedge. I have not seen a problem with any of them, but if one gets it, I'm sure all will be infected. Such a shame.
There's a new neighborhood in my area that has numerous rose bushes in their entrance with rose rosette. I'm so scared it will spread to my neighborhood.
