Once Coulborne expressed to Augusta, that he would respect her decision to marry and that if she loved Edward and found Edward to be worthy of her love, he said he would never force her into a loveless marriage. That resonated with Charlotte & conveyed to Charlotte that Coulborne loved his niece, Augusta, as a father, and was respecting and protecting her at the same time. Charlotte saw Colbourne as a man worthy of her love & respect. It was at that time that she saw a future with him to build a life with him and have a family. She felt safe with her decision.

Yes. At the end of Season 2, Charlotte said she could never feel tenderness for someone who didn’t respect her. All season, he’s been trying to show her that he respects her, and finally she understands that he really does.

S2 and 3 are a crap show. They ruined it. Charlotte ending up with that turnip Dullbourne is tragic.

Balfe and Heughan are friends. She is married, and has a baby son. Heughan is single, and seems very busy with his career. He dates , but seems to not be dedicated to a long term relationship. That’s good, because he is really working a lot.

Sorr;y I stopped in the middle of season2. Boring without Sidney, Mr Stringer and Lord Babington. Even Charlotte lost her sparkle!

I enjoyed watching the matured Charlotte. The Sidney character was a bully and bore. Meh.

So you mean colbourne was boring?! 😮 CH was supposed to be more mature yet sad appearing after the loss of SP and while she's slowly opening up again with becoming friends with and in love with AC, just as she did to him 😊❤

Are you kidding? Mr. Stringer was boring and definitely not for Charlotte. Neither was Sidney; he never truly respected her. As for Lord Babington, wish we'd seen more of him in Season 2, even into Season 3 with Esther and George as a toddler coming to visit Lady Denham. Also would have liked to have discovered to whom Lady Lydia had engaged herself . There were so many more stories to continue, including Susan and Samuel, seeing interaction with the Colbourne family after the marriage. List goes on.

Dullbourne is gross. Charlotte deserved better. He's definitely a downgrade.
