Rosedown is not the most magnificent, or the grandest plantation mansion in the South, but it is one of the most Complete that there is left. It was kept in the Turnbull family until its Restoration by McMillen and Company of NYC. They took the 80 percent of original furniture, wallpaper, draperies and paintings and restored them all to 1835. It was an unprecedented restoration at the time the only other similar was Jackie Kennedy at the White House.
