I was just ten when this song was released, and I listened it on the radio, when Dad returned from work, and put on the radio. I liked it through it took years for me to understand what they lyrics say, when I became 15. It is still a very good song and one really worth to listen and enjoy.
I appreciate how true her notes are; the intonation is right on the money--what a pleasure to hear that! Of course, she brings much more to the table than that, but she DOES bring that in spades and I find it a joy, especially in a song like this that sports some sophistication in its harmonic constructs.
Great lyrics. Great arrangement. Great performance. I remember when this was played on all the radio stations. I especially love the youtube "reaction" videos when young people listen to past songs and performers. They are generally impressed with their "discoveries".
