(Composed by Krzysztof Komeda)
This marks as one of the first horror films that truly scared rather than shocked me. The first, innocent notes of the film's theme already do a great job of drawing you in, and I wanted to pay some homage to that theme. Parts of this arrangement may have taken some inspiration from the version by Fantomas but if so it was unconscious - I was mostly going from memory and listening to a brief segment of the OST recording to get one part of the chord progression. I like that the original recording has that somewhat claustrophobic mix that studio orchestral recordings from the 60s all seemed to have, but I think the melancholy tune works pretty well on a solo accordion.

(PS has anyone seen the miniseries-remake thing?)
