What has always made Rosie so endearing to me is the fact that she never stopped being a fan and an audience member herself. VERY much like Carol Burnett-authentic.
Loved her shirt she always made me laugh. The first time I ever watched stand-up comedy was on HBO and she was the first comedian I had ever seen on TV. I would watch her on college campus at NKU
A lot of people gave her sh*t about the Tom crush, saying she was trying to hide her sexuality. But I honestly think she had a schoolgirl crush on him. Rosie loves Broadway musicals and Streisand and older Hollywood stuff. And she literally said “I want you to do yard work for me “. That was it. She said “I think he’s a handsome man, I never said I wanted to have sex with him!”
Just a reminder that Tom Cruise is a not a dream guy as Rosie suggest. He is aware of the horrible things his cult and best friend have done and does nothing about it. He encourgard his kids to disconnect from their mother and he seemingly has no relationship with his daughter. And yet he is praised by many and I find it all so disgusting and sad.
I feel the same in this year of 2024 but this show ran in 1996 it was innocent time. B4 TOM'S personal beliefs came out . Also came our about Ellen's talk show not really being nice to the famous guests & her fan base responded & Ellen lost views. No sympathy there.
Like many people I initially found her show enjoyable to watch. But as time went by I started to notice how mean she actually was behind the fun facade. So I stopped watching it before the show was cancelled. No regrets.
