In which Rosie attempts her first ever Nuzlocke challenge within Pokemon Crystal. Her adventure begins, we catch some Pokemon, we complete a tutorial fetch quest, we get shoved around a little by Silver. All fun.

I'd prefer instead of the rules to see a graphic of the current team. Look up TFS and ProJared for examples.

This was super chill to watch while I worked on my own pokemon breeding, definitely prefer unedited. Funny to see someone else names their Butterfrees Margarine too [it is with an A though] Favourite game is too hard to decide, but as for pokemon, I'm really into Vaporeon lately, though some of my other favourites over the years include: the Mareep line, Furfrou, Lanturn, the Litwick line, Starmie, and Azumarill. Questions you could answer during your playthrough could include Which legendary from each pair/trio is your favourite? [Mew or Mewtwo, Ho-oh or Lugia, etc.] Which player characters do you like best visually? What are some of your favourite shinies?

You might not be able to explore Dark Cave, but you can go in and catch a pokemon right by the entrance. An early game Geodude is often great.

The first time I played this game, the cop asked for our rival's name, and I told him... exactly what the rival told me. So yeah, the whole game, my rival was named ???.

Looking it up, the Fire Starters (in their original game), learn their first fire moves at: - Charmander - Lv 9 (Ember) - Cyndaquil - Lv 12 (Ember) - Torchic - Lv 10 (Ember) - Chimchar - Lv 7 (Ember) - Tepig - Lv 7 (Ember) - Fennekin - Lv 5 (Ember) - Litten - Lv 1 (Ember) So yep, looks like Cyndaquil really is a bit of a late bloomer. Edit: For comparison, also looked up the levels for the Grass and Water ones: -Bulbasaur - Lv 13 (Vine Whip) -Chikorita - Lv 8 (Razor Whip) -Treecko - Lv 6 (Absorb) -Turtwig - Lv 9 (Absorb) -Snivy - Lv 7 (Vine Whip) -Chespin - Lv 5 (Vine Whip) -Rowlet - Lv 1 (Leafage) -Squirtle - Lv 8 (Bubble) -Totodile - Lv 13 (Water Gun) -Mudkip - Lv 10 (Water Gun) -Piplup - Lv 8 (Bubble) -Oshawott - Lv 7 (Water Gun) -Froakie - Lv 5 (Bubble) -Popplio - Lv 1 (Water Gun) So Bulbasaur and Totodile are the only other starters of your trio-starting groups to take longer than Cyndaquil to learn a STAB move.

Guess I should answer some of the other stuff you asked. Honestly, I tend to be really bad at "what's your favorite" type questions. Combo of ADHD + Asperger's means I actually struggle a little in reflecting on past experiences such that it's hard for me to really remember exactly how I felt while doing something the first time around. Something has to hit really, really hard for the impact to stick in my mind, or be recent enough that recency bias kicks in. And honestly, I don't find the overall feeling between generations to be so different that I can honestly say I like one more than the other. Other than I like the mainstreaming of a lot of the mechanics in recent gens. EVs, IVs, such a massive pain. Appreciate stuff like the mini-games in Black & White making those easier to deal with, though guess that stuff really only matters for more hardcore competition. I can say, however, my favorite Pokemon is Pikachu. I'm a sucker for a good mascot. And yes, I bought Let's Go Pikachu. For Starters, I picked Bulbasaur in R/B, Cyndaquil in G/S/C. Mostly went water after that though.

So since this is a Nuzlocke run my context has always been that you're killing their pokemon too. Which is a unsettling thought when you kill another trainers pokemon and then they give you their phone number to do it all over again...

A lot of people play with "Set" battle mode, meaning you don't get the opportunity to switch when your opponent is sending out a new pokemon. It's another difficulty modifier and your call if you wanna use it. Personally I really like it, as the guaranted hit you have to take on a switch brings out a new level of strategy.

Something that's always bugged me about pokemon is that second gen goes silver, gold, crystal and 4th gen goes diamond, pearl, platinum, which seems backwards to me. I tend to pick the water starter. But sometimes I will pick the fire one just to have something different. What's your favorite pokemon movie? The Lucario one and the third one are my favorites.

Game audio could be a touch louder, but no one else has said anything so it's probably just me. Also, are you going to count surfing and headbutts as their separate thing per route or do they eat the route if you do them?

@@fandommusings5302 Some people count them as a separate things since it basically renders them unusable on most non-ocean routes because you'll likely encounter something in the grass before you get the chance to hit a tree or do something with the water. It's not that pressing of an issue, but having that extra Pokemon can save a whole run sometimes. Also the only way to get a Heracross.
