They alway favoured Ross, and in a later episode they told all their friends that Ross and Rachael already got married because they didn’t want others to judge them for having a kid out of wedlock.

Maybe because Monica as a woman expected the ring from Chandler, a new one, and the mother gives hers (or grandmother's which now belongs to her - so hers anyway) to the son, so he can propose to his girl. So it's nothing strange at all, that is how it usually works. also, most women expect their engagement ring to be brand new and picked up by their fiancé, not the old family one. Especially someone like Monica, who had her dream wedding planned (if you remember the wedding planner book) since she was a little girl. If she wanted her mother's/grandmother's old ring she would have said so, and they would know. She clearly didn't. This is why they did the whole episode about Chandler picking up an engagement ring for Monica when he went with Phoebe, remember? This was fun, and this was the point. We have so many beautiful scenes thanks to this episode, if it weren't for this, we just would have 2 scenes with the old ring. Much worse, and again: doesn't make sense. So what are you even whining about here?

This episode is so funny and brilliant!! 🤣Ross and Rachel /Jen and David are spectacular together in this episode, I always laugh like a mental person, watching their scenes in this episode! When Rachel goes crazy due to still not being in labor, and Ross trying to cheer her up - that is golden! 🤣😂

Just my thought, but I don’t think marrying someone just because you’re pregnant is always a good idea. If you were going to get married anyway, fine. But marrying just because of a pregnancy can lead to resentment which is not good for the child. Both Rachel and Ross were involved with the child and worked to parent together, so I’d say they were handling the consequences.
