I just finished the series and watched the reunion twice and Ross and Rachael were the main reason I loved the show. Knowing know Jen and David had feelings for each other too just makes it even better and I wish we got a more of em in the last 2 seasons but I’m glad they got their happy ending.

Their relationship was far from perfect, Ross was jealous, sometimes selfish and unreasonable, but he also thought the world of Rachel and had pined after her since high school. He loved her unconditionally and was the father of her daughter, Emma. Rachel love Ross even more, She went to the airport to tell him she loved him but could only get the gate attendant to pass on a message which he never received. Rachel went on a date to try to move on but couldn't because her feelings were so strong. She's devastated when Ross returns with Julie. Once they do get together, Ross and Rachel's love for each other intensify and when they breakup it's heart breaking for both because they mean so much to each other. Even after this their love refuses to die to the extent that Rachel flies to London to tell Ross she loves him and only doesn't do so because she thinks he's happy with Emily. (I agree with Rachel that Ross doesn't really love Emily). Ross is stunned when Rachel finally tells him she loves him and is in a mess because he's married to someone he doesn't really love. As time goes on they become close friends, getting married (Rachel's idea) and divorced but with both admitting that if they had a proper wedding it would last, indicating they still love each other as much as ever. Ross and Rachel continue to seek each other out for support including sleeping together for mutual benefit (when Emma is conceived) and living together as roommates on two occasions. First when Rachel has to move out of Monica's and then when she's pregnant with Emma. Rachel is horrified when she sees how distraught Ross is at her and Joey being together and whilst she pursues Joey, she knows it's not going to last. After she and Joey breakup she doesn't date anyone else because she's so in love with Ross but doesn't know he feels the same. Its not until he tells her at the airport that she discovers the depth of his love and is so overwhelmed that she boards the plane for Paris. Rachel phones Ross to tell him that she loves him and by repeating it to herself realises she's about to make a terrible mistake. Rachel gets off the plane, rejecting the dream job in Paris, so she can be with the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Both declare their deep love for each other saying this is it for them, they're never letting each other go again. (They even share a joke about “we were on a break").

i love the show but i feel like the writers made ross go through the most shit. and it because it's all laughs you don't realise it but it's moments like these when you actually realise it. it made me cry a lot because ross is my favourite and it just wasn't fair for him. that's all.

I think Ross and Rachel relationship was toxic. They truly had the love chemistry. However, sometimes you can love someone and be crazy about them, but doesnt mean that it is meant ti be. They had a lot of baggage from the past. Ross was jealous and possessive all the time because he didnt want to go through what he went through with Carol again. Rachel always used to be codependent and was spoiled all her life so she would get annoyed for every little bad thing Ross would do cause I think she always thought she deserve better.
