The last digital remastering was performed in London in 2014; I own the CD,and it's the definitve version,the original masters ,dating back to 1955 ,are dissolving....Thanks to digitalisation this recording Will remain perfect for ever as it was recorded....
Incroyable Callas ! Quelle voix exceptionnelle et surtout quelle maîtrise. À en avoir des émotions pendant 2h10. Magique. Rossini était un génie. Un génie de bon goût. Beaumarchais admirablement mis en musique, superbement servis par la Divine Callas. Un vrai régal.
no acostumbro recordar a estos dioses y ponerlos como parámetro. cada epoca tiene sus interpretes y todos los cantantes liricos son un poco angeles que llegan para socorrer nuestras emociones. de todos modos es imposible no tener estos registros discográficos como parámetro. La vos de Callas puede tomar el color de una briza apenas sentida en el rostro como lo hace en esta Rosina o conmocionarnos con sus notas gigantescas en Norma o Medea. Gobby ha tenido momentos fabulosos como este. Alva tiene una voz de cristal que en el rol de Almaviva hace todas las filigranas que pueden imaginarse. Un rosiniano de excelencia. En conjunto un elenco que deja a G.Rossini conforme sin lugar a duda. A veces pienso que diría el maestro si escuchara estas maravillosas performances. Una remasterización increible, parece que estuvieramos escuchando una grabación de hace pocos años.

Die verbesserte Tonqualität ist erstaunlich hoch als eine originale Aufnahme von mehr als sechzig Jahren vor. Bestimmt eine der zehn besten Aufführungen dieses Meisterwerks im 20. Jahrhundert!
La primera opera que nos hizo escuchar nuestra profesora de música en la escuela básica la Srta. Mariana San Martín cuando participaba en el coro mixto de dicho colegio (Esc. Centralizada Coeducacional de Curacautín). Siempre me ha encantado la música clásica y ésta es una de mis operas favoritas. Por el fútbol dejé de lado el asistir a clases de música que impartía nuestra profesora en los mismos horarios.
Особенно когда граф с Фигаро в начале в принципе в оркестр не попадают (друг в друга само собой), потому что то произвольно ускоряются, то произвольно замедляются 🤷♀️ Их бы заставить годик под один метроном попеть. Зато они все неплохо могут в скороговорку, да и дон Бартоло очень хорош. Ради Каллас, конечно, только и слушаешь. Да и дирижёр ничего.
I agree, they are superior to all the rest in any sense: choice of peaces and performers, sound quality, complete overlook... they are simply pure magical pleasure and such endless treasure of goodies - never to be overpraised. I have no doubt about it. So, hands down from me as well and long live CM/RR!
Mi regalarono gli "highlights" di questa edizione per i mieri 13 anni! L'adorai subito. Anche se all'epoca non sapevo che la Callas era, in realtà, fuori registro: erano gli anni della "Rossini Renaissance", e si cominciava ad esigere che Rosina fosse interpretata da un mezzosoprano, così come l'aveva scritta l'autore. La vera gemma di questa incisione, comunque, a me sembra TITO GOBBI: forse il più grande baritono di metà 900!

Mais quelle voix! Quelle puissance et quelle Souplesse dans les vocalises. Bon d'accord, Maria était soprano coloratur, mais il n'empêche que son interprétation est tout à fait grandiose. Tito Gobbi est quand à lui exceptionnel. Deux très grands chanteurs lyriques. Que du bonheur pour les oreilles. ❤😊❤😊❤😊.

За мастеринг спасибо огромное всей команде. Совершенно по-другому слушается. У меня есть более ранний СD, так что могу сравнить. Про исполнителей и говорить нечего: роскошно! Чуть ли не лучшее исполнение. Ну, разве что, спектакль Ла Скала в Москве 1964 г. с Гяуровым.
One thing that is aazing, is how Luigi Alva have grown and develoed his lyrical expression from this recording to the one with Tereza Berganza, Herman Prey et al, under the baton of Claudio Abbado later. You mention all this to passively ignore Callas by bring up Berganza ! Callas is still the Superior here and even Berganza says that ! You can think what ever about me but I know your kind of move...
@@fideliofidelio1222 lol I was actually referring to the tenors... there is only a (small) hand full of tenors that can actually manage this role. Sopranos like Callas and Berganza, Bertoli et al... the list goes on...all are amazing!
Dunque Io Son - Without a doubt, the absolute best recording of the best performance of the best duet of all time! Sublime... no, Heavenly! Perhaps not surprisingly considering there are those who believe, in all seriousness, that this opera might well qualify as the highest accomplishment of the human race, for multiple reasons not limited to musical prowess. "Highest and Best Use," in other words (to borrow the term Western Capitalists use when they permit fertile farmland to be paved over for things like parking lots and strip malls...)
Adquirí esta grabación en album doble de disco de vinilo en los Estados Unidos para el año de 1980. Han pasado más de 40 años de tenerla en mi colección de ópera y sin duda puedo decir que es un verdadero tesoro que poseo.

A historical recording with an unforgetable cast (Callas, Gobbi, Alva, ...) from 1957. Although before the "archaeological" interpretations now in use, it is excellent. Callas, in line with Berganza and Horne is one of my favorite Rosinas. It is a privilege to listen and appreciate this recording !

A beautiful performance, but badly cut. Much has been lost from the last scenes after "Il conte d'Almaviva io sono" including the aria "Ah, il piu lieto" Sad that such a beautiful performance was not presented in its entirety.
