What an interesting interview, which gives me several things to ponder: in a sense the great composers are still alive; four seasons are experienced in a given day; Rossy states that it is easier to see what is going on with the music on the piano than it is on the cello; he draws a line through the top notes in order to further visualize the waves and flow; and Rostropovitch talks of rising and falling energy in the music, and, as a cellist, that is quite likely literal. . . .
