Here in NZ the rule is always go up ! My favorite exhaust port to open up is the 12a twin Dizzy housings for the heart shape port . I recon it sounds the best
That would be like saying one style of cam mod works on everything... Although you can basically only offer one style, that would also mean you might be giving up horse power in other applications or limiting yourself. The difference between a naturally aspirated motor and a boosted motor is where this becomes much more important.
At some point I would love to have a chat with you on how to keep my GSL-SE exhaust port sized and timed correctly to keep from losing velocity when combined with my RX8 side exhaust ports for a decent N/A street/bridgeport setup that leaves the option for a turbo setup open for the future after I've gotten used to the power in my AE86. Don't need power, want as much transient response as possible!
Im building a " cheap" turbo engine now im using all na parts but the irons. I ported the exhaust to the stock sleeve. So basically on the inside i ported up to the factory bevel then re beveled it. Hopefully it rips?!!! I didn't do a huge bevel but its smooth.
I would be using turbo rotas if going turbo,,ur going to be limited for boost (6 to 8psi max ) and reliability if you use N/A rotas save the later drama and future damage just use turbo rotas,
I am curious too about porting on Hybrids. I've heard that there's issues regarding the timing between the two being different and having lackluster performance. I recall forum warriors saying something about the RX8 exhaust being zero-overlap or something like that. Would love to hear Kyle's opinion since he seems to be the wizard with Hybrids
