You don't need to tell yourself that you love your job Ron. It's obvious that you actually really do love your job and you do it really well my friend. It takes love to care that much. Thanx for sharing your love for what you do with us. I know I love watching. P.S. I actually think the worst it gets the more you love it. Cheers.
Overhead power lines, narrow road, inclement weather, and pulling a vehicle out of water. Definitely a Ron Pratt and Midwest Truck video. Great recovery as always.
It is amazing how a simple job becomes complicated! Ron, it seems that no matter where you go to do a job, the nemesis of the power lines are always there! Good job!
Working a recycling route in the city was exactly like that - torrential rains, blizzards, sleet, hail, high winds, 120°F heat indexes, and -10+°F - we were out in all of it, just like you guys. I frequently had to empty the water out of my boots, lol. In 6 years, I never found a boot that could keep my feet dry on that job. Impressive run of cable there!! Thanks for sharing, Ron. Great stuff as always! God bless all of you.
If it is not raining, no power lines or dark, you must be doing something wrong. :-) I love your attitude during adversities and sensitivity toward a customer's anxiety. You are indeed a gift to the towing business.
Good Moring Ron! From one Pratt to another good job on everything. Found your channel a couple of weeks ago! I have been playing catch up on them. My name is Tracy Pratt from southern Illinois! was a farmer for years! I then retired (Early} from the City of Branson Branson Mo. One the things I did there was in charge of a road side mowing crew! Had one man killed and one injured. All because people wouldn't pull over! The driver who killed the worker went to prison. the other was a hit and run! the car stopped but when I approached it they took off and it all happened so fast no one got the plates! Be carful out there and God Bless! Keeping you and your family and all the drivers in our prayers!
What a calm, cool property owner. Realizes that sometimes poop 💩 happens and just wants to take care of the problem. Every once in a while it is good to unspool all of your cable.
I am a viewer from the northern part of Norway. I have enjoyed your towtruck videos for some time. I find both the jobs you do very nice to see, but also the way you conduct yourself. Polite, curteous, respectful and professional, all at the same time. Also always safety minded. Keep up the good work, and thank you for the interesting videos.
Been watching your videos for a few months and I love your attitude. The poor guy must have been embarrassed about his truck being in his pond but you didn't make him feel small, you just spoke to him like you had known him for years and got his truck back. It will be an expensive fix but you left the guy thinking it was just a no blame incident.
Thank you. I do the best I can to live by "The Golden Rule", treat others as you wish to be treated. Sometimes, I fall short, as we all do. Thanks for watching and God bless.
The weather has certainly been playing havick on everyone. Thank God no one got injured. Stay safe out there. May God bless you and watch over everyone.
I really truly appreciate and enjoy watching your videos and learning new things an awesome ways to hook an rig an maneuver trucks and vehicles. Have a blessed week, an keep up the awesome work.
Ron one thing I have to say. When you go fishing you go for big game. You are also a diehard angler. Most anglers would go home in the rain. Lol God bless
your awesome Ron, putting up with ALL kinds of weather, snow rain, hail, flooding and then ya get drivers with minimal sense??? YUP YOU LOVE YER JOB !!!!! Good work
Thank you for what you do and how you serve others Ron! If you ever find yourself in BC, Canada, you've got yourself somewhere to stay :) Praying for you and your family! - Jay
It's sad to see water poring out of the Tundra like that. I was almost in tears. I hope the damage wasn't that bad. Sucks you had to work in the rain Ron, but you got the job done with expertise. Good job and God Bless.
Video request?! Below I listed some video ideas, that I would personally love to see! • I’d love to see the process of touching up paint on those trucks, the removable of attachments, painting them, before and after video of the touch up paint. •I’d also like to see the process of despooling a winch, and learn more about the winch and winch lines. • why & when-> to use chains vs rope.. maybe give some examples when you would use rope and when you’d use chains, and also tie down methods. I know how hard video ideas can be, so here’s a few if you find them interesting! Love the videos, keep it up!
Hey Ron, in rainy weather carry some Ziplock freezer bags to put stuff in that you don't want to get wet. That is what I do while riding my motorcycle.
Joshua79C C With as long a line as you mentioned (250 feet), does the winch system have a mechanism that keeps the line evenly spread on the spool? Or, can the cable bunch up to one side of the spool?
@@gregparrott Most do not (and judging by some of Ron's other videos, neither does the Tator). They are spooled correctly by keeping some (even just a little) tension on the line. If you allow them to spool without tension, they will "stack" which is the death of a cable.
@@jeffscruggs6074 my $40 garden hose reel has a little thing that goes back and forth to make sure the hose winds up correctly. It must be advanced tech! Lol 🤣
While I hope I never need your services, I am so impressed with your professionalism and knowledge / skill on how to extract , flip, twist, roll, lift whatever we dumb@$$ drivers screw up. Never expected to watch so many videos about wrecks but have to say I now look at the rigs running down the highway to see if it a rotator or not. Thank you for making these videos and for all you and your crew does helping folks in bad situations.
It sucks when you have a slight down poor then stops then REALLY lets loose. I am sure there are days where you don't really enjoy your job especially when you have to get wet from the rain, but we know it's part of the job it happens you deal with it and go on. As for this job the tator was the right tool for the job had JUST enough cable with the 20 foot endles loop sling to get it onto the road. This was another EASY job for that bad boy lol. Didnt gunt or squat 1 bit lol. Nice part of this job and ALL jobs everyone goes home safe. My the almight god bless & protect you & everyone there Ron.
An enjoyable wee rescue in the middle of a little shower Ron, but as always, I thoroughly enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing, God Bless, Stay Safe. As to Molly, she went back for her first of 8 weekly check up's at the Vets, she had to be sedated, while the Vet removed the Fibreglass cast from her leg to check on the wound, and everything was as he hoped and expected, he was also pleased with the wound where he took the bone from her shoulder, all in all, Molly is doing well, she is not too happy at her strict Cage rest though, but it's the only way to ensure the bone graft will take, I thank you all for your kind words, for anyone interested in how well Molly is doing, I'm on facebook where I give regular updates on Molly, Thank You.
That's one way to wash a pickup ;) Your camera needs wipers It's always the same, the second you have to go outside, the rain/hail/snow starts. Regarding your Nemesis: Maybe the powerlines love your work too and just want to watch every time ;) Nice work as always, thanks for the video
The "fog" on the lens reminded me of the hot muggy vacations in Indiana as a child. Could barely breathe (asthmatic). Would lay on the floor in front of a big box fan, couldn't get any cooler or drier. Outside the bugs would plaster themselves all over us! Fortunately in later years some people got air conditioning and would even run it! 😅. My husband and I visited in the fall, perfect time of the year. Beautiful homesite, nice big house. Scary that a big pickup could loose traction and run off into the water like that! Good job in miserable conditions, Ron and Mike! At least you didn't have to "go swimming" to hook up. Blessings to you all!🙏
That adequately describes the climate here for much of the summer and spring. The customer does have a beautiful home in a nice area. Thank you for watching and God bless.
Wow , that was a hike. That land is beautiful. And then the owner shows his truck is more important than the land-----telks Ron not to worry about the land. Great.
For all the power line comments....power lines usually follow roads.vehicles usually follow roads. Ron usually follows vehicles..soooo 9 times out of 10..there’s going to be power lines present wherever Ron goes lol
Ron @ 15:15 you captioned "I love my job." Even those of us several states away have so much respect for you, and love watching you work. It is easy to see the love you have for your job and your customers
Glad you put out as many cones as you did. As I drove home tonight, I drove through a construction area and on the other side of the detour someone thought they could make it through the space between the cones and got one lodged in their wheelwell unable to turn they just blocked traffic! It's amazing. Stay safe out there!!!
Greetings and Blessings from Cardington OH ... Great job as always. Please tell Talon t was great to see him back out and on scene again! Thoughts, prayers are with you, and Blessings to all!!!
I'm sad to say I had a 98 f150 I was launching a boat in the Wisconsin river . I went to un do the the boat herd a pop the truck/ trailer went in the river 700ft of cable it took them to get it out. That was back in 2002 great video my friend
I have really enjoyed watching all of your past videos. I'm watching all of them. Love your great work ethics. You are a passionate person who cares about the owner's of all the vehicles you have worked with.
Another good video Ron the title of the video was a Catchy one job well done good to see Talon I know he probably misses being out there Have a wonderful weekend and You and your Midwest crew stay safe out there
The fogginess in your Camera lens reminded of the "Dream sequence" in a TV Series. Seemed pretty cool! I also love the Tow Mater Notification sound on your phone
Another good video Ron, was good seeing Talon as well and I'm guessing he misses being out on recoveries since he's got the new role at the shop? Take care and stay safe out there!
@@genkatqltr8517 - yes, Ron explained in an earlier video that we would not be seeing much of Talon. a job, which Talon apparently feels is better for him, opened up at the shop due to a sudden retirement due to a health issue and Talon chose to take the job and leave the road. in case you didnt know, Midwest Truck has a full-service heavy truck repair garage and heavy trailer repair shop. Ron's parents own the whole business.
The 'Tator again impresses! I've watched other rotator towing videos and see operators out there with barely any equipment loaded on their trucks. I'd be more like you, Ron, loading everything I can possibly need for a job. If you go minimalist, you've got to be really sure about what you are going to be doing and how you are going to do it. Equipment gives you options. To me, there are few worse feelings than knowing I have exactly the right tool for the job, back at the shop an hour or more away.
Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather. John Ruskin. As always Ron keep us the great work and the amazing video. God Bless
Great job on the recovery. The homeowner has a beautiful place. [wonder if the insurance company will total that truck? Lots of water, and (potential) damage to electronics and safety systems, not to mention engine/transmission...]
Loved the Vid Ron.. Well done to you and Mike. Talon's head might not be in the right spot all the time... but his heart definitely is. I mean I don't know too many folk who would after a day in the shop head on out to see if they could help out ! Good on you Talon for being so thoughtful ! Stay safe all.
That had to be a HECK of a ride down that hill for him⛷ What I did get a laugh at was he still has an atlas in his truck...do they still make those😉😂 Good job Mike and Ron 💪😎👍 〽️
My semi started to slide on the ice down the dock approach towards the Kalamazoo River while I was opening the trailer doors....... .....Boy! Did this chubby boy run to throw a tire chalk down in front of the trailer tires and that worked.
Nothing makes a fat man move more then close to loosing his career due to an accident. I heard a story of a trucker who forgot to set his brakes. Truck started to roll down the hill towards the water. Ever want to see a fat man cover 60ft in less then 20 seconds thatll do it.
Great job! I'm surprised with how much cable the tator has. Will this be considered a total loss or would it be a change fluids & back on the road type of thing?
I can't get enough of these video's ! Im addicted lol , i do love the way you treat people ! Never stop that its amazing ! God bless and i alwsy say a 🙏 prayer for the people that may be hurt !! Oh lord if i were younger I'd love your JOB 😆
honest to god , for some reason i knew talon is goin to swing by and check on you and when i saw that he did man i was satisfied , solid team you guys are , so cool to watch your videos
