UL Flyer Schrauber Day - a Maintenance Day at the Airfield Rotax 912 100h Service and Inspection Rotax 912 100 Stunden Kontrolle With Oil Change, Spark Plug Gap Setup, Magnet Plug Check, Cylinder Leak Down Test and More ulflyer.jimdo....
I think there was about 1 liter of old oil left in the engine after this check. I've been doing it for 30 years and I drain the oil warm right after the engine test. And after draining the oil, I disconnect the kables from the spark plugs. Then I pump the old oil out of the engine by turning the propeller.
I notice your not using Rotax spark plugs which have a double spark gap. We're running an experiment at the moment. One 914 running Rotax plugs, the other is running NGK DPR9EA. No verdict yet. Anyone else have any input ??
Hi I’m a student in singapore doing a final year project where it involves rotax 912 project and is impress by how well u guys know the engine. Is there a way to contact and get to learn the engine through you guys? I have 0 knowledge on it and it’s taking me quite awhile to learn the engine.
@@BobRove I never cleaned my 912's oil tank in over 2,000 hours/10 years. After uneventfully reaching TBO (and then some) I sold the old engine and bought a new one, while the engine was out I took the tank off:clean as a whistle! NO AVGAS, always mogas probably helped.
Hi Paul, no thats not wrong - and indeed necessary if you remove all the Oil from the System :-) But the practice showed, if you do not fully drain the System, you will get back Oilpressure within seconds even without additional pressurizing the Oilreservoir. So we always change Oil the "quick way": Drain and close Reservoir and remove and replace Filter without further "Prop Turning" and "Bleeding". Works nice on many machines here and since 15 years and thousands of hours...
Hi Gord. yes, you can ballance the carbs at 100 hrs - no problem. But if the engine runs smooth and nice and the Left & Right EGTs are nice and even, there is no need to Sync the Carbs "just for fun" ;-))
