I installed my lad's brand new Rotax Evo senior engine using your vid's 2 years ago - it has performed faultlessly and in first year came 2nd in seniors class and last year won it (Jersey Kart Club, Channel Islands). Thanks you guys!

Hey! Great video, and one of the best channels for a person that wants to know more about karting. Can you make a video of what you usually do before a race to a karting (engine setup, chassis setup, etc)? And another video of what you do after the race (cleaning chassis, engine mantainance). Once again, your channel is great!

For the installation of tight fuel hoses...I get a little cup of boiled water and put the tips of the hoses in for about 20 to 30 seconds to soften them and then push them on. Saves the risk pulling them past their yield point for the pliers. We usually have a flask of hot water ready to go at the track which is made at breakfast...(been English and needing a cup of tea between each session and all that ;p)

I'll echo the comments from America, your channel has been great. I hope someday you can do a series on the LO206 engine, just for us North Americans 😆 The Sr LO206 class is fairly popular and I think your channel would tap into another market of viewers if you had advice specifically for that engine/class. But I understand why you focus on what you race with locally. Anyway, keep up the great videos. Us Americans like your Aussie point of view of the sport!
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 3 года назад
Hey mate, thanks the rad testimonial. okay, L206 is coming right up. as you know we have the Tony Kart 4 stroke machine sitting patiently awaiting its new Donk. So I think the most people in the states and elsewhere are using the Briggs. I guess that is the way I have to go. Where about do you live in the USA? and what tracks do you race and with how many people? Dez
@br88dy
@br88dy 3 года назад
@@PowerRepublic I live in the Pacific Northwest of the US and we have a regional league with several tracks. psgka.com/links-and-references/ That link shows where we race. At my local club, Tri-Cities Kart Club, there are 15-20 in my Senior LO206 class at each club race, but regional events are packed. We also have multiple age groups using the LO206.

@@br88dy how's that concrete hairpin at the end of your main straight, surely some pile ups on that one?
@br88dy
@br88dy 3 года назад
@@PowerRepublic no pile-ups that I've heard of! Turn 1 is banked inward so you can take it with good speed. This is my first year, so maybe I'll see some crashes, but no one at the track has mentioned it. Although it is fairly easy to lock the rears because it's slightly downhill at the end of the straightaway. Great video, you give all the little tips that does'nt come with the manual, very important for someone like me who try to learn to do as much I can by myself. But what about the oil in the gearcase? Is that another video? Anyway, now I watch your instruction videos instead of karting videos :) my son can do the driving part, I do the mechanics
@PowerRepublic

very important point, rotax comes with oil in the gear case from the factory, however I recommend changing it after your first day at the track. use 100cc of Automatic Transmission Fluid for refill. Excellent. if you have any questions or videos you would like us to do for you please comment below

I have a question, this is something I've always wondered about. I can usually only hear it in onboard footage of a Rotax kart. Under cornering there is this clink clink clink sound coming off the chassis. Is it the chain hitting the sprocket or the axle stopper?

i think the sound is the clutch drum touching the ring gear

Great Channel. Appreciate the constant content. How do you know which end of the RAVE is to atmosphere? I have a 2015 rotax max evo dd2 and the manual has the vacuum tube connected to the other end to what yours is. Have i not been getting the most out of my engine this whole time??? Cheers
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 5 лет назад
The top is the outlet use and the side port is the to the Power Valve. The bottom is to atmosphere. some of the older versions were different orientations, however when I run the engines on the engine dyne I can see the Power Valve Bellows moving at 7500 rpm which indicates to me that the Power Valve is operation at the correct way
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 5 лет назад
Thanks for positive feedback btw. Not sure on the DD2 but it should be similar, which model EVO do you have?
@jaytownsend1158
@jaytownsend1158 5 лет назад
Power Republic its a 125 MAX DD2 evo. Ive had a few people tell me that it is plumbed the wrong way but the factory manual has it connected to the outlet closest to the power valve vacuum outlet. However, i havnt inspected the bellows during operation to see if they are working.

Hello mate, what do you do with the vented cap ( the one to fill in the gears oil)?, do you remove the white cap that comes stock, do you remove it and keep it like this, or you remove it and plug a tube? If so, where do you connect that tube? Thanks and regards from Spain
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 3 года назад
Hey Vigiror, yes remove the cap, its just for shipping. that black plug is the gearbox vent. you can leave it open or what we do is attach a small piece of kart fuel line and make a loop in in down to the chassis, engine or into an overflow bottle. hope that helps

Simpler method to manage lips, use fishing cord, wrap around the rubber and pull from inside, while unwinding it will pull rubber lips into position easier.

@@PowerRepublic Could I ask unrelated question please, about TonyKart vs Kart Republic cassis if you happened to know. On your channel there are tons of valuable content about TK and for person who want to get into Rotax/IAME X30 karting is this best kart cassis to start with? I see fairly cheap second hand chassis in UK and they look beautiful. I wonder if there is a problem with them? Are they using standard parts or I would get into trouble finding replacement parts? It would be interesting to see a video about different brands/makes and what sort of gotchas there could be if one steps out of TonyKart reign.
