I don't have Rothys but I often put my shoes in the washing machine. Next time, I am going to remove the insoles before washing. That's a good idea. And I am going to check out Rothys now!
This is a fantastic video and some funny parts too! For some reason I laughed when you smelled your shoe at the start 😂 I have to ask did they actually smell at this time of filming?
What’s in that spray in the rothys care kit? Is that really necessary for washing the rothys? Also, how do you deep clean light colored insoles? They get stained and it just never comes off no matter how many times I wash them in the washer.
Someone too this video and reposted it. there channel is clearly only other peoples videos. Someone reached out to me about my video. Channel name- Strohm Reviews , same name for a videi. Thought you might want to know🤗
You’re right there are very few videos on this so I’m glad this is up here.. Have you found the insoles to lose their odor completely after using this method and also hw often would you need to carry this out.
Polly we found that using this method it got rid of 100% of the smell. Just throwing them in the washing machine without the care kit did not get rid of all the smell. We usually wash ours about once every 4 months. This is because when wedding season hits we have to wash more frequently. Do you own a pair of Rothy's?
Meredith Ryncarz Photography I don’t own a pair but they look lovely, and a machine washable pair of flats sounds good!!! I have been looking for hacks clean my shoes. This might be a silly question but why is wedding season making you need to wash these more? Also the material, I would imagine that because they’re plastic that they can cause them to stink quicker, would I be correct with this?
@@polly3627 GREAT QUESTIONS. As a wedding photographer we are up on our feet for 10-12 hours during a wedding day. Typically, we will be in all kinds of weather from snow, to hail, rain, or whatever else you can think of. As a result our shoes get REALLY DIRTY very quickly so we end up washing them more. As far as breathability, they breathe very well and my feet don't sweat almost hardly at all. Here is a link to my first video that goes in into more details: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DpGFcNtv2dU.html
This video is very useful, thank you Meredith!!! Can I ask what's the worst you have ever found that these shoes have gotten in terms of smell from your own experience?
In terms of smell they really haven't got that bad because they breathe so well. But after a full wedding photography season they can get pretty bad. Do you own a pair yet?
@@MeredithRyncarzPhotography absolutely, so good you can wash your rothys? Has stinky feet been much of an issue in the past before discovering rothys?
This is such useful information, thank you for sharing your knowledge. So I’m guessing you wear these for long periods during the day. Did you find that these begin to smell rather quickly compared to other flats?
Paige, Rothy's breathe much easier than other flats I have tried so my feet do not sweat and my shoes do not begin to smell as quickly as other flats. My other video on this topic goes into a lot more discussion. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DpGFcNtv2dU.html
Meredith Ryncarz Photography thanks for the link, the Rothys seem to be a lot more foot friendly than tieks! Did you have any clever methods for getting smells out of your tieks or was this ever a problem?
@@paigekoolman6127 It was a problem for us which is why we switched. The material the Tieks are made out of held the odors much more than Rothys and I couldn't wash them the same.
@@paigekoolman6127 Keep in mind the whole shoe is leather so you can kind of wipe it down but the leather holds in smells so no matter what we did it didn't help which is why we switched also breathability was a big issue
I'm definately gonna use these tips when I buy my rothys! From looking at the insoles do they typically get that dirty, also do they hold onto odor moreso than other materials?
The insoles do tend to get more dirty as it is advised you don't wear socks with them. We wear them all wedding day on a wedding day so we get alot of use out of them. As far as odor I do see a difference with the rothys as they breathe better which helps with odor. I hope that helps.
@@MeredithRyncarzPhotography that's great and looked at your other rothys videos too! Do you still wear this particular pair? If so would you consider doing a 1 year update on them?
@@MeredithRyncarzPhotography thank you so much. I'm particularly interested in the leopard print pair you have, they're so beautiful! Also the loafers are really nice too!
Hi, some greaf tips. Do you find that the spray realy plays a vital part compared to just throwing them in the washing machine when they begin to smell?
Lisa Jane that is a great question. I find that the Rothys do much better with foot odor even without washing. The shoes breathe really well, when compared to leather shoes or other materials. I find this really helps with foot odor especially during a wedding day. So do you own a pair yet?
@@MeredithRyncarzPhotography thank you! No not yet, I want to buy a good quality pair next and am doing my research. These could be pack leaders now. Looking at tieks and yosi samra too. Ok so random question in the day in the life of a wedding photographer, have you had any embarassing foot odor situations pop up when working before with previous flats you owned? 😄
Lisa Jane not really. I make sure to take care of my feet on a wedding day. I have another video detailing tieks vs Rothys that may help you. Have a great evening
@@MeredithRyncarzPhotography thank you. Have you found anything for tieks to prevent stinky feet? Also just how bad do your feet tend to stink in tieks compared to rothys? Both are a similar price range
@@loretta7176 I haven't found anything for tieks to prevent feet odor. The issue is they don't breathe as well as Rothys. My feet are a little worse in tieks vs rothys but I can wash Rothys which helps to eliminate that issue.
A great Rothys video. As this video is about cleaning Rothys I am just curious as to how long it was before your Rothys began to smell compared to other flats? Even though they’re breathable and washable is this ever an issue?
Zoe as a wedding photographer these results could be different for each person. We started noticing an issues with stains after a wedding season which is about 7 months. They really never started smelling till just after that. Even though they are breathable bacteria can build up in any shoe which leads to smell. Most of our other flats smell well before this. Does this answer your question?
@@MeredithRyncarzPhotography sam funny, don't worry about his questions I got the answers he wants. saves him from getting mad for not getting right away responses
They lasted very well. I have not really seen any wears or tears except in one of my original pairs. One of my toenails rubbed a small hole in the shoe. Overall it lasted about three years so the build quality is really good. Especially considering I am in them all the time. Thank you for the question.
Helen Connolly Helen the cleaner was from the Rothys care kit that you can purchase in their site. The link is in the description above. Thank u for stopping by
Helen Connolly that really stinks 😷 . So sorry that happens. For now you can just wash them in a delicate bag. I have done that a few times. Hope that helps
