Rotimatic suggests to use listed flours only. As per them it affects it's efficiency. However, you may want to contact their customer service for the best advise.

G Dube it won’t make nice rotis. Most of them will be wasted. Infact most of the time it won’t make rotis and it would give error “flour is not good or so”... As I mentioned in my video there are only limited flour brands that are used in this machine and those brands are the best already. Handmade rotis of those brands are just outstanding as compared to rotis made by this machine.

As long as the arra is similar to Ashirvad, Good roti will come out. Brand is immaterial.

thank you for your comment and asking these questions. So answers to your questions: Altogether it takes less than 5 minutes to make a first hand made roti and for the next roti it takes less than a minute because then I don't prepare dough everytime for each roti and the pan gets heated too. You are right...food processors are noisy but mixing ingredients or anything in a food processor does not take more than few minutes. It would have been great if they would have specified its sound level (dB) that way it becomes easier for potential customers to make a purchase decision. The containers' size should have been bigger because if i am not in the kitchen and if I need to make rotis in big quantity then the cycle stops and pan gets cold and it will again take 6 minutes to heat up the pan..Also I do not think it would have made much difference at its automated capability if the size of the containers were bit larger or they should have run few more simulations with different design factors such as bigger containers, elevated pan etc. before launching this machine :) it takes around 20-45 minutes to me to make two dishes at a time (depends on what I make) and ofcourse no one would want to stay in the kitchen for an extra hour as soon as done with all the cooking because for 50 rotis it almost takes 110 minutes altogether and if I make hand made 50 rotis it hardly takes 30-35 minutes or may be less. I am not sure why it doesn't taste like homemade roti even though the recipe is same because for the recipe all we need is flour, salt(optional), water, and oil (optional). I like to use a specific wholewheat flour sometimes (which is ofcourse the most healthy option) but there isn't any option for that brand. you are right, I should email them to add that particular flour brand...thanks for suggesting! I can only make 7-8 rotis without refill. I have tried all the settings and I do not have any issues with its size, texture etc because the rotis from rotimatic look beautiful ...no doubt! Also i haven't noticed any difference in the timing because I also like thinner rotis with least roast level. the last question you asked, would I buy it again? so the answer is "no" because my mother wanted to buy one too when she saw the ad but after experiencing my rotimatic she changed her mind because of its noise and taste. however, I would definitely say that this machine is very very useful if you want to make rotis in big quantity and if you do not know how to make rotis or if you don't have time to make rotis :)

yes, it makes thin rotis and you can also make bajra roti but no jowar.
