Once again, LiftWerx has raised the bar in the wind energy industry, by successfully commissioning its most powerful and capable RotorHook™ crane. This is the world's largest up-tower crane system, designed to perform major component exchanges with payloads up to 80 MT (176,000 lbs), and on towers with hub heights up to 132 metres.
The crane's first heavy lift was performed this week on a GE2.82MW wind turbine, by safety lifting a rotor with a diameter of 127 metres and with a weight of 75MT (165,000 lbs). This proud achievement has been made possible by our high-performance team of technicians, equipment operators, engineers, and suppliers. We'd like to extend a sincere thank-you to the entire group!
Looking to the future, LiftWerx is already developing the world's next generation of up-tower cranes, capable of repairing larger wind turbines in the 3MW to 10MW range. Stay tuned for more details!
