my father worked in Amman for close to three years in the late 1980's. everybody in the family got to go there except me. I got to see him when he worked later in Oman. always wished I could have made the trip to Jordan, however, I was in college at the time and couldn't meet the schedule and had to stay in school. maybe some day... my dad liked to see as many wadis as he could.

Before finishing you cleaned with denatured alcohol. Then you finished with a mixture of something???, tongue oil, and lacquer thinner. What is the something?
@TheWoodCrafter1
@TheWoodCrafter1 3 года назад
Yes, pure Tung oil and Minwax tung oil finish which is harder than tung oil alone, I think it is a mixture of tung oil and some kind of lacquer. You can use poly or lacquer alone! Just give the workbench some sort of protection.

Looked like he was using a guard for some of his cuts where he could. He’s probably very aware, but good on you for pointing it out in case he’s not. But based on the quality of his shop tools, and his woodworking skills I’m guessing he may have a condition where touching the stock irritates, or just gives him an unpleasant feeling (some neurological conditions make it painful to feel certain textures) but man that looks like it’s gonna be one hell of a table, bench or whatever he’s making. Just beautiful.

Yes, it's very unsafe to wear gloves or any jewelry while running any type of machinery.

Enjoyed watching this. You seemed to be very meticulous about aligning the laminations with precise doweling. I didn't expect that board #7 in the center to come out that much lower than the others. What happened there? Was it doweled wrong ? Was it accidentally narrower than the others? I was expecting the top to come out needing very little flattening, not a router sled :)
@TheWoodCrafter1
@TheWoodCrafter1 3 года назад
🙂 That particular piece was originally narrower than the rest as I had no more wood left, so I decided to place it in the middle where the bench splits, but it was also aligned to be flush on the top side as it is where it matters! The router was used to flatten the bottom side not the top which is what you see in this video. Check 24:43. Thx for watching

Great saw, excellent accuracy, super clean-cut, love the soft start, very powerful also it is made in the UK, dust collection is normal, I use a vacuum and a dust mask, or I will end up breathing dust 😊 if I forgot any of them.
